Every year I go to the 'Mainstay Inn and Cottage', in June and in September. From the beautiful rooms, to the great food, friendly and accommodating staff, and the relaxing porch with cushioned rocking chairs and swings, I keep coming back for more. The inn is situated on a quiet street with walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops.... More

Recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mainstay Inn in Cape May, NJ and I would highly recommend this B&B. From check in to check out had a great experience. The Inn is in excellent shape and rooms are really clean. Enjoyed the afternoon tea and refreshments and the morning breakfast. The food was fresh and plentiful. I plan... More

My husband and I just got back from on of the numerous times we have stayed at the Mainstay. We love it here and cannot say enough about Diane who has been a wonderful host throughout the years. We can't wait to get back again, hopefully around Christmas time...Thanks again for a wonderful time. Bonnie and Charlie ps. Your breakfasts... More

Mainstay Inn is the best B&B in Cape May. Tried other B&B’s and they do not come close to the Mainstay. Inn is 2 blocks from the beach and 3 blocks from the mall. The rooms are spotless and cleaned daily typically while one has breakfast. Beach chairs, towels, on-site parking, umbrellas, local newspapers, cookies and pretzels are available daily... More

Owned now by off-site entity and it is not what it once was when owned by a classy couple. Stay in main house only. Breakfast is nothing really special. Choose a true b&b where you would be warmly greeted and have a homemade breakfast. Not this anonymous, corporate-feeling soulless place. We will probably return again to Cape May as we... More

This was the first time staying at this B&B in Cape May for us. We've stayed at two others in the past. One of the best features of this Inn is its huge porch. Plenty of chairs and swings to rest in while watching the horse-drawn carriages go by on Columbia Ave. We stayed in the Cardinal Gibbons room, which... More

Our stay was very nice and we enjoyed the Inn. The only reason we don't give this place 5 stars is the very high price compared to what you get. High season our room - Decatur - 360$/night (including tax) with Queen size bed. Off course we knew the price when we booked so there was no surprise there. However... More

We just returned from a (3) night stay. Diane, the Innkeeper, was on the phone, when we arrived. And, she & Tracey were preparing a complimentary 4th of July BBQ lunch for the guests. So, we had to wait for quite awhile til Diane gave us a quick intro to the Inn & showed us to our room. We stayed... More

My title says it all...the Mainstay ruined me for other B&B's. I have been dying to stay here for years and when the opportunity arose I couldn't resist. Our room (the Cardinal Gibbons) was pure perfection. It was the largest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Tracey is a wonderful host and her breakfasts and snacks were delicious. You... More

My husband and I stayed at the Mainstay 18 years ago. I brought my older daughter (15) down for a couple of days for the first time since. It was just as nice as it was 18 years ago. Immaculate, quaint, food was delicious, and everyone hospitable. No need for a car once we got there. Highly recommend it...
