Terry, Nancy, Dillon, Pauli and the gang, I cant tell you how much I appreciated the fantastic Wedding reception and the stay for all my guests at your hotel. It was magnificent and the food was exceptional. Matt and I are so grateful that we found this hidden gem 8 years ago thanks to Nancy. We feel like family and... More

What a great place to decompress during the off season. My wife and I went there last October.... stayed in the House (southern quarters) not the Hotel.. had the place to ourselves... weather was in the 50s Beaches were still great.. quiet without the crowds.. Victorian Charm wasn't over bearing...price was very good.... Close to the mall and restaurants... rented... More

My husband and I got married this past September BC like others have said, it's like stepping back in time. I loved the simplicity of it. We chose to have our ceremony out in their garden. They provided no chairs or anything at all really. Which granted, we knew beforehand but I thought the wedding coordinator, Terry would at least... More

Have been coming here for over 50 years and it is a wonderful place. Filled with tradition. Close to the beaches -- an easy walk. Close to the Boardwalk for a stroll in the evening. It is a legendary place in Cape May and a real joy to stay in.

Although we stayed at The Southern Quarters which is separate from the hotel it was nice. The location was great, situated between the beach and the Mall makes walking everywhere very easy. The bathroom had a claw foot tub was more of a novelty then practical. Great weekend getaway for the off season price!

...and could not have chosen a more perfect spot! The Chalfonte is like stepping back in time and was more than we could have asked for! A last minute trip found limited choices for us, so we booked this Grand Old Dame as it was our only choice. Who knew that this fabulous hotel would be such a charm. The... More

Once you step inside this nearly 140 year old hotel/restaurant, you'll immediately realize that, if you've come just for dinner, perhaps you should attempt to book a room and stay the night as well. Which, I would imagine might be fairly difficult during peak summer months - but worth inquiring about. The Magnolia Room dining experience has to be experienced... More

What a wonderful experience this turned out to be. When you live close to the highway it is a real treat to sleep with the windows open on a quiet street!! The horse drawn carriages went by several times. The staff is lovely and the am buffet was great. Loved the old style of the hotel. It was neat and... More

I have spent many years traveling to South Jersey and exploring all of the beach towns. Cape May is by far my absolute favorite (any time of the year!) My favorite place to stay is the Chalfonte Hotel. The hotel offers a variety of accommodations for varying budgets. I personally prefer the Southern Quarters; it is the cottage located next... More

A little challenging finding parking on a Summer weekend, and no elevator, but rooms were decent sized. Our bathroom was small and a little difficult to maneuver in. Floors everywhere are slanted, giving an "am I still drunk?" feeling! We had a corner room with a balcony, which was nice, but people were standing outside our window talking at 8... More
