Having read a lot of reviews, and knowing Cape May quite well (and NOT liking the "Victorian" nonsense) I booked 5 nights at the Star Inn with slight trepidation, but reasonably confident that we would have a good time. Well, it was much better than we had expected! The room (14) on the ground floor was a two room plus... more

My husband and I stayed at the Star Inn on a weekday night in April–we got a great deal on Expedia. I was not sure what to expect and was overall happily satisfied. We got a room in the hotel efficiency section. I do need to mention a few negative points, but the room and hotel was beautiful. First of... more

My husband and I just came from Cape May this past weekend. We also usually stay at Congress Hall, but the prices are very high. We had a very easy check in process, received our coupons and got a great parking spot in the lot. Went out for dinner that evening and found a parking spot in the same lot,... more

We stayed in the 'house' of the Star Inn, not an apartment. The room, though cozy, was all the space we really needed and our basic needs were more than covered. Not sure why someone had a problem with the bedding in a previous post, but we were impressed with the bedding and linens, as they are very similar to... more

We are long-time Cape May vacationers.....have been coming to the Jersey Shore every year since 1994. We have stayed in many places in Cape May County, but Congress Hall and The Star Inn are by far at the top of the "heap". We watched the restoration of Congress Hall in the early-mid 2000's, and what a wonderful thing it turned... more

We stayed at the Star in October for 2 nights (without our kids - yeah!). It was so great. We have stayed in various B&B's over the years and other hotels but this little motel was the BEST! It was a perfect room for 2 - enough space to spread out and just enough to get cozy together. Fully equipped... more

In 2005, my wife and I stayed at the Congress Hall Hotel in Cape May for two nights including Christmas Eve and had a great time. The hotel, staff, and restaurant (The Blue Pig) were absolutely wonderful. However, we noticed that they had purchased the little motel across the street. Since we couldn't quite afford one of the larger rooms... more

We just came back from a four day, three night stay at the Star Inn. This has been our tenth year at Cape May but our first staying at this resort. I can only say that we already have made our reservations for next year because we enjoyed the resort so much this year. We are a group of four... more

My husband and I just got back from 3 glorious nights at Cape May (August 10-12, 2007). We have an incredible time and can’t wait to return. I will break this review down in parts for easy reading. HOTEL We arrived at the Star Inn around 2pm. Would have been there sooner if it weren’t for the torrential rains on... more

I am writing this from the kitchen of apartment 30. It's 7 AM and I can't sleep because the guests above us are walking around and as a result our ceiling is squeaking so loudly it wakes us up! It's ashame because the experience otherwise has been perfect. The apartment is great, the service just like at Congress Hall where... more
