We stayed at Thorn and the rose with or 2 small children. The suite was comfortable and was clean. The back deck was great to relax on when the children went to bed. There were sand pails for the children and beach chairs for the adults You can walk to everything from here.. I enjoyed being able to get fresh... More

Photo on web site is misleading. wanted to run as soon as I went into the place..... Kitchen does not have an oven and the gas grill was not working. Very few pots and pans to use. Had to vacuum the minute I got there and I found food and a dirty sock under my sons soon to be bed.... More

On the positive side the location is great! The price is reasonable. The place needs a lot of TLC. A fresh coat of paint, inside and out is needed. Even the wicker chairs were in dire need of white wash - along with new cushions. When you go away on vacation, even if you're looking for a "deal", you expect... More

We spent a week in the "Rosebud Cottage' in the back of the main house. It met our needs. I was looking for a family-friendly place, really affordable, near the beach and within walking distance to the Washington Street Mall. The Thorn and the Rose met all of my requirements. My kids are 5 and 8. They thought the place... More

Yes, the decor is outdated and the mattresses are old...however, my two bedroom suite was just perfect for what we needed. There was a full kitchen... though I had to rewash all of the pots and pans before I used them, there were efficient accommodation's available to make dinner. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the private deck at... More

The pros first: A great location, and a nice innkeeper. However, the cons far outweigh the pros. We had a small one bedroom apartment with a kitchenette. It is not really a working kitchen since it just comes with a two burner stovetop and no oven. The rates are reasonable for Cape May, $185 a night. The apartment was dingy... More

Let's start with the positives: 1) Their location is a short block away from the beach, and easy walking distance from the Washington Street Mall shops and restaurants; 2) They accept kids of any age. The negatives, however, outweigh the positives. For starters, the mattresses in the Cottage in which we stayed HAD to be 30+ years old (remember the... More
