This is a lovely old Inn with beautiful décor and a fantastic dining room. Rooms are quite expensive but include all the amenities, a good breakfast, afternoon wine & cheese, and a 24 hr coffee/snack room. A beautiful covered porch has cushioned wicker seats and faces the beach. Rooms also include a reserved parking space for your car (important in... More

We were looking for a quick get-a-way and decided on Cape May during the off-season and looked into the Peter Shields Inn and Restaurant. There could not have been a better choice. With nearly 60 B&B's in Cape May, we used tripadvisor to find a spot and lucked out. As a highly rated inn by other reviewers, we booked it... More

What a great place for a special occasion. The atmosphere is cozy, location is just across from the beach & the rooms are clean. A little pricey but worth every penny. They provide beach chairs, towels & bikes. You can also use their basement bathroom to change after you check out. The property is old but remodeled and you can... More

We stay at the Peter Shields Inn at least twice a year. The service is excellent. The rooms have all been redone with a mix of old and new. The owner Jeff and all his staff are so friendly and accommodating. The Inn is located right across from the beach and offers an excellent menu in its restaurant. There are... More

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful B&B for a long weekend in August. It is located right across the street from the beach. They provide towels, umbrellas and chairs. The inn is very romantic, perfect for a special getaway. The staff can't do enough for you, they try and see that any requests you might have can be... More

We just returned from a restful and delicious weekend stay at the Peter Shields Inn, Cape May, New Jersey. The Inn, which is located directly across the street from the beach,is both inside and outside, a stately classic bed and breakfast. The Inn offers a total of nine (9) well appointed rooms situated on the second and third floors. We... More

Beautiful view of the ocean, breakfast on screened in porch was outstanding! Chairs, towels and umbrellas for the beach, as well as bikes. Piano music during dinner, very comfortable. My only problem...plastic covering on the mattress and ill fitting sheets. The plastic is very uncomfortable, and the sheets don't stay on the mattress. I expected more for the price. Overall,... We stayed at the Peter Shields Inn last weekend for two nights and it was just wonderful. Beautifully appointed rooms with large private baths and turndown services; nice extras for summer guests include bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. We dined there one night and the food was delicious, plentiful and presented well. BYOB, too. Bridgette and her staff were... More

We spent three nights at the Peter Shields Inn and every aspect of our stay was delightful. From the beautiful room with a great ocean view to the wine & cheese snacks each afternoon, to the piano music in the evenings and the full, custom breakfasts on the screened porch in the mornings, we couldn't have asked for better. The... More

2-night stay at the beginning of July, 2014: Peaceful, well-appointed Room #8 on 3rd floor. Excellent breakfasts and dinners (hanger steak/chicken/salmon and all salads & desserts very good. The Inn supports a local winery only, or BYOB (liquor store about 1 block away). Super-helpful staff. Reserved parking for each guest room. Beautiful, sandy beach directly across the street -- nice... More
