We just returned from a restful and delicious weekend stay at the Peter Shields Inn, Cape May, New Jersey. The Inn, which is located directly across the street from the beach,is both inside and outside, a stately classic bed and breakfast. The Inn offers a total of nine (9) well appointed rooms situated on the second and third floors. We... More

Beautiful view of the ocean, breakfast on screened in porch was outstanding! Chairs, towels and umbrellas for the beach, as well as bikes. Piano music during dinner, very comfortable. My only problem...plastic covering on the mattress and ill fitting sheets. The plastic is very uncomfortable, and the sheets don't stay on the mattress. I expected more for the price. Overall,... We stayed at the Peter Shields Inn last weekend for two nights and it was just wonderful. Beautifully appointed rooms with large private baths and turndown services; nice extras for summer guests include bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. We dined there one night and the food was delicious, plentiful and presented well. BYOB, too. Bridgette and her staff were... More

We spent three nights at the Peter Shields Inn and every aspect of our stay was delightful. From the beautiful room with a great ocean view to the wine & cheese snacks each afternoon, to the piano music in the evenings and the full, custom breakfasts on the screened porch in the mornings, we couldn't have asked for better. The... More

2-night stay at the beginning of July, 2014: Peaceful, well-appointed Room #8 on 3rd floor. Excellent breakfasts and dinners (hanger steak/chicken/salmon and all salads & desserts very good. The Inn supports a local winery only, or BYOB (liquor store about 1 block away). Super-helpful staff. Reserved parking for each guest room. Beautiful, sandy beach directly across the street -- nice... More

My husband and I stayed here on a sold out night in room 8. Bridget, at check in was very nice, helpful and informative. Our room was ready on time. I chose this 3rd floor room for optimal quiet. The room was pretty and clean. The bathroom, well, was small and unimpressive. The tub/shower enclosure is bath fitter not really... More

My husband and I stayed here for a few annual trips to Cape May. The inn is beautiful, and the staff is wonderful. And I loved the afternoon wine and cheese and the breakfasts served. They were so enjoyable. The down sides though, are what made us move to La Mer next door for our subsequent Cape May trips. We... More

We selected Peter Shields Inn to mark our wedding anniversary. I would return in a heartbeat! The Inn was immaculate, the staff was extremely accommodating, and the location across from the beach was perfect, as well as quiet. The room was very nicely appointed and extremely clean. Included in our stay was a lovely wine and cheese service on the... More

Can't go wrong... we were VERY hesitant to book another "B&B" after our uncomfortable Temecula CA wine country experience, but this was not THAT! This "Inn" was large enough to allow us to 'blend in' so as not to feel like we invaded someone's home! Free WiFi, free 'bikes' to borrow for a beach ride, very nice beach towels and... More

My husband & I took our good friends to Cape May to thank them for helping us renovate our kitchen. We looked for a Bed & Breakfast that was small, intimate, on the beach and had great food. This place is all that and more. They did not forget any detail when they opened this B&B. A warm & inviting... More
