The room was very clean, however after spending the night walking around town we returned to find we had no hot water in the shower, from our wlak we were cold and a luke warm shower was not a lot of fun, we checked at the front desk but no one was available to remedy the problem, next morning after... This is an older hotel, so small rooms and bathrooms should be expected. Walls are pretty thin, and amenities aren't the greatest. There are definitely lots of steps, and parking can be an issue when they are busy. The location is great though, right across from convention hall.

There are a lot of stairs, which they warn you of. I loved most things, it was old, so you expect small rooms and bathrooms, thin wall etc. So this comes as no surprise. I loved the location, room was so cute, towel animals everyday, felt like I was on a cruise! Everyone soo nice and sweet. The only downfall... More

I have stayed here for years, and although there are a LOT of stairs, this hotel provides good basic rooms without much frills. You have to know which rooms to book or you might get a tiny space. The bathrooms are small and bare bones. But it is immediately across from the beach and the only real "boardwalk" area that... More

I liked everything about this hotel, except the bed (Room 21). Seems some other reviewers were happy with their beds, so I'm guessing not all have rock hard mattresses. My 14 year old daughter, who could sleep anywhere, complained about the bed too. Other than the bed, the room was simple, but very clean and comfortable given this is a... More

This was our 6th return trip to the Macomber and we were greeted by Desi at the front desk. She is always friendly and welcoming. We stayed in room 38 on the 3rd floor. It's a bit of a hike but the room is clean and and nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable. We had a view of the... More

Will be returning to the Macomber. The staff was friendly, the rooms were simple and clean, and you can't get any closer the the beach and attractions. I've stayed in a ton a places in cape may and this is a good one. The one thing I will say is my bed could have been better. The other bed in... More

My mother, aunt, and I stayed in room 37 which is an oceanfront 2 room/2 bed suite. We knew going in it was on the top floor and there's no elevator. The room was lovely and clean and the view was to die for! We woke up both mornings to the cool breeze coming in and could hear the waves... More

Hotel Macomber is a beautiful old hotel, located across from the beach near the Convention Center. We walked to a good breakfast & lunch spot (Zoe's) and a delicious restaurant for dinner (McGlades). The hotel is nice, but if returning would request a room on lower floors. The third floor is a bit much with luggage and no elevator.
