I love it. It is a beautiful old hotel that is conviently located. The front desk personnel are warm and friendly. I have stayed here twice and plan to stay there whenever I stay in Cape May. Anyone who wants the ultimate Cape May experience should consider staying in this reasonably priced hotel

Had a great time. Our room was romantic and clean. Staff was friendly and the price was wonderful. Didn't have any paranormal experience but that's a great reason to go back for another spooky romantic weekend get away. Loved the beach which was a stones throw away and was great for a little risky behavior!

Actually stayed in October 2010 and October 2012. Allowable dates don't go back that far. Location is prime and I think that's what you're paying for. Staff is friendly and courteous. Other patrons can be a little less than friendly is what we found. Our last stay was in their Captain's Mey room. This has a semi private porch. We... More

The Macomber is exactly what it advertises itself to be....an historic hotel. We have stayed here for the Christmas weekend for 6 plus years now and have never been dissapointed. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the porch view exceptional! Updating as suggested by others has been done even though we felt little bottles of shampoo were unnecessary. We... More

Second time staying at this hotel in October for a mother /daughters weekend. Very nice accommodation. Rooms very clean, personnel pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed having our coffee and breakfast snacks in the sun room. Location wonderful - can walk to almost every point of interest.

I can't wait to stay at the Hotel Macomber again. It is in a great location, quiet but close to restaurants and shopping or walking on the beach. We stayed in the Cornelius room 19 and it had both sunrise and sunset views. Also great porch for early morning coffee or late night chilling. Very friendly staff and very clean... More

The hotel is in a great location, with easy beach and shopping access. The porch is also a lovely asset. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. The hotel is old and you need to be prepared for staying in a place where there isn't an elevator and the walls are thin. This was not a problem... More

Thank you for your feedback, Tim. I'm sorry to hear our vintage aesthetic wasn't your cup of tea. You'll be happy to know that we are currently in the process of updating the finer details of our hotel. I hope you'll think of us next time you're visiting Cape May to see our improvements. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and were pleased with the great location on Beach Ave and partial ocean views from our room. Unfortunately, this was about the only really positive elements about our stay. The front desk staff was quite friendly. Our room on the other hand was really old and DATED. There was 1 outlet... While I'm pleased to hear that our staff was very helpful and friendly during your stay, I'm sorry that our historic building didn't suite you. We are aware that some of our rooms could use a touch up, and we are working on upgrading our amenities. I hope that next time you visit Cape May you'll give us another chance... More

The Macomber is located across from beach and very close to many great restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself is old. It definitely has character and I mean that in a good way! We stayed here 2 years ago and loved it. This trip, we are very unhappy with our room. It is very small. There is a tiny sink... More

We want to provide a relaxing and fun vacation, and I'm sorry to hear we missed the mark. It's disappointing to hear you were unsatisfied with your room. Did you happen to mention this to the front desk? We would have been more than happy to make arrangements for a new room. We'd love to have another chance to provide... More

We stayed 2 days in September this year. We haven't been to Cape May in many years, so it was a little get away. First time staying at the Hotel Macomber. Overall a nice place. MANY stairs like they say. 16 steps for each level, and we were on the top level, so it was 48 steps each way. A... More
