I have just returned from a much needed get away in Cape May NJ. We booked our stay at a charming small hotel called the Alcott. When we first pulled up to the hotel we knew we had booked well. The architect of the hotel with its terraces dripping with floral ivy made me feel that something serendipitous was about... More

1 block from beach, clean and neat. No parking and WiFi doesn't work well, so turn offs but otherwise a nice stay. Probably pricier than desired but we booked late in season. No elevator, no laundry room, no fridge in room. Continental breakfast was good.

We spent the weekend there. The room was nicely decorated and they did supply a mini fridge for my husband's medical/dietary needs. VERY comfortable beds. Close to the beach, promenade, and Carpenter's Mall (shopping and dining). They have a nice restaurant, but since there was a wedding reception taking place one of the nights, we did not get to try... More

Make your own decision but...We recently stayed at the Hotel Alcott in Cape May because we were attending a wedding reception at the Hotel. It is a older Victorian Hotel, with a variety of room sizes. We booked a standard room. The room was small, no closet, and the door hit the bed. If you have been on a cruise,... More

I just returned from a 3 day visit to Hotel Alcott. I was very impressed with the staff ( especially Sandy ) The hotel is less than a block to the beach and 2 blocks to town central. The complementary breakfast was enjoyed on the front porch. The rooms are very clean and the bedding top notch. The rooms may... More

We recently stayed at the Alcott Hotel in Cape May. The Hotel was ok, not great. When in Cape May you expect a higher level of Victorian Charm - most places go overboard to provide that look and feel. In this case, we were underwhelmed with the room, on the first floor it was their nicest suite. The room had... More

Stayed in the Alcott for a week this summer and honestly, it does have some pros: 1.) Extremely comfortable beds 2.) Location is only 1.5 blocks from the beach 3.) Continental Breakfast though slim, was delicious and the veranda seating arrangements in the morning were very nice. 4.) Front Desk Attendant Adora is very helpful, friendly, and attentive 5.) Lemonade... More

Great location. Great room. Did not have occasion to dine, thought I did enjoy the continental breakfast. Our room was on the 2nd floor. No elevator, that's true, but hey...you're on vacation, get walkin'! Parking is what parking is in a beach town. The staff was great. The hosts and hostesses were very helpful, the international housekeeping staff were friendly... More

This hotel is the perfect setting to enjoy Cape May. I'm not a fan of B&Bs--they don't feel as clean. This place is a GORGEOUS, very historic building from the 1800s--totally renovated -- VERY clean, maids were lovely, front desk was so so pleasant and very helpful. They have a cute continental breakfast in the morning, block and half from... More

Stayed there over 4th of July weekend. OK, I made my reservations late and this was one of the few places with rooms. That should have been my first clue. The website is nice and their photographer deserves a local Emmy. I thought I had ordered a queen sized bed with a nice sized room. But, the room was the... More
