If you're looking for ambiance... no, this is not the place to stay. Okay, so the service was friendly, rooms clean and bed comfortable. The minus is that it's at the end of the strip , minimal parking near the hotel otherwise you have to walk 5 city blocks to the designated parking area. Hey!... sometimes a clean, comfortable bed... Hotel was excellent. Staff are very courteous and friendly. Great location. Would recommend the hotel and location. Great facilities. They loaned us beach towels even after checking out. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Looking forward to returning.

Went for the long Labor Day weekend and expected more. Chose a standard queen size room since we were not going to be spending much time in there although still pricy. Didn't mind how small it was, but did mind the coffee or soda stains all over a couple walls where someone must have had a temper tantrum, the stained... More

This is a very nice hotel with very friendly service - but a few things you should know. Rooms are good sized for Cape May and a very short walk to the beach. Charming / nicely decorated (not as ornate as the B&B's in Cape May - but very nice). Carpeting on 2nd and 3rd floors is a bit worn... More

We stayed here only one night but the ambiance is wonderful - if you like the old quaint kind of place. We splurged for one of 4 rooms on the terrace (realy a porch) which was so worth it. The room was somewhat small, clean, sparsely but nicely decorated, comfy bed, with lovely bathroom. And we could see the ocean... More

Hubby and I went for a few getaway days to Cape May and booked the Hotel Alcott. For us, not a wise choice! If you have any disability with walking, you may want to reconsider. There is no elevator in this hotel. The second and third floors are where the bedrooms are. Second floor has 26 steps and another set... More

I called and requested a 1st floor room because my husband can't go up stairs (bad Back). They said they would add it to the reservation. When we arrived I was told they don't have anything on the first floor only a suite that was taken. The staircase was very long. The room that we were given was small and... More

Thank you for your feedback. We're terribly sorry that the stairs were a hardship for your husband. You are correct in stating that we only have one suite available on the first floor. All other rooms are on the second and third floor and the hotel, a historic property, does not have an elevator. We apologize if you felt misled.... More

stayed here while in town for a wedding. fine for a place to sleep. room was tiny, not to mention a walk up ( luckily we were on the 2nd floor). also shocked that the only parking they offer is 1/2 a mike away-----the lady at the front said it as if we would welcome a 1/2 mile walk after... More

Many thanks for your feedback. As a historic property (the second oldest in Cape May), you are correct in stating we do not have an elevator. In addition, our rooms come in many sizes depending on the type you select. Should you return to Cape May and choose to sample another property, we hope that we compare favorably. It is... More

This vintage hotel is located just a block from the boardwalk in Cape May and amidst that community's justly famous Victorian neighborhoods. The hotel is not fancy or especially luxurious, and the decor is modest. But the spaces are pleasant and the porches capacious; the staff was friendly and cooperative, the beds comfortable, and rooms perfectly clean. The breakfast is... More

Great sleep. Really quiet in spite of three wedding receptions during our stay; didn't hear a thing as the room was well away from the action. Everything about the room was great: well furnished, great bed, great bathroom; great TV though too tired at night to make much use of it. Love the relative location: easy walking distance from everything... More
