We were stranded nearby when our car had an electrical fire. The volunteer fire chief brought us here as it was the closest thing at 10pm with two sleeping kids. The a/c was off in the hallways and it smelled like an ashtray.

We got a non-smoking room and were watching a movie to try to relax from the stress of the car breaking down. I was about asleep when I saw a bug crawling across the bed from me. I jumped up and got my husband up as well. When we turned up the sheets there were multiple bed bugs crawling around us.

This was almost 1am. We woke up the manager who insisted the hotel did not have a bed bug problem. He gave us another room down the hall (the first was #205, the second was #201). We turned up the mattresses in the second room and found brown spots that were signs of fecal excrement from bedbugs, in addition to a used condom wrapper. Nice.

We demanded a third room. The manager was still rude and insisted they did not have a bedbug problem... more
