My wife and I recently stayed for a night at the AMCs Mohican Outdoor Center. We were hiking from the Delaware Water Gap on up through New Jersey to Bear Mountain New York. We were lucky to be able to rent the "cabin in the woods" which was recently renovated. The AMC staff were all very welcoming and for the... More

We live in NYC and this is a very manageable trip for the weekend. The cabins were clean and had all the amenities in the kitchen and bathroom to cater to our big group of 15. We made smores in the evening. The hikes were not too challenging so perfect for every member of the family.

I was on an Appalachian Trail thru-hike attempt this year (2015). After reading a favorable description of the property in a thru-hiker guide book, I mailed a resupply box there, intending to tent there for the night, resupply, and re-forward my "bounce box". I arrived about sunset on August 8, 2015, requesting my bounce box, and tent space for the... More

I have been here 4 times. This place is a great place to get away from the city & spend time in the woods. This is great for people trying to figure out whether they like the outdoors or not. Make sure you bring your own sheet or sleeping bags. The staff is very on point & professional. You will... More

The staff was very kind from start to finish. We had limited interaction as we came in about 30 minutes before closing (9pm) but before we left, they were kind enough to give us directions to the trailhead we wanted to go to (Buttermilk Falls). Of course there is barely any signal there so preload your maps or save them... More

If you are renting a bunk room for $33 PP per night, this does NOT include a towel, shampoo or soap. We were hiking the Appalachian Trail. We had to BUY a pack towel, soap & shampoo for 2 people to the tune of $45.00. Plus, we had to carry the pack towel for the rest of our section hike.... More

Spent Friday night and Saturday at AMC Mohican Outdoor Center where I hiked the Appalachian trail. Check-in was a smooth process, but the main office closes at 9pm. I barely made it with NYC rush hour traffic. Don't forget to bring a flashlight because AM Mohican never recommended it. We had to walk in complete darkness to our cabin. The... More

Stayed for a weekend in April 2015. Was assigned to the Blueberry Lodge which was heated and contained a fireplace and 4 bunkrooms. There is a nice seating area with couches seating 9 plus some chairs. Full kitchen with all necessary items down to a can opener. The lodge was fairly clean, bring your own sheets/pillowcases/sleeping bag. This was one... More

I just spent the weekend at the Mohican Outdoor Center for a ski weekend sponsored by the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). What a great place! There is plenty of cross country skiing nearby, and hiking or snowshoeing on the Appalachian Trail. The bunkhouse was equipped with a full kitchen and cozy fireplace. However, if you go in the winter, bring... More
