The hotel is ADVENTOURIOUS! If you know to have a good time, relax, and go with the flow ..MAYFAIR is for you! The location is right on the beach! Parking was difficult, but search and you will find. As soon as I stepped foot into the lobby- I felt like I just walked into a haunted house! Oddly I started... more

From the street this hotel reminded me of something from my childhood, like The Colony in Del Ray Beach, Florida. I'm 63 and my parents used to take us there in the 50's. The Mayfair is family run with lots of love and care. Location is perfect. Ceiling fans, our room had ac. Quiet pool with childrens wading pool. Basically... more

This place is Quirky, but Cozy. Yes all of the reviews are true in the respect that it is not the Holiday Inn or any other modern chain. However it was not dirty, there were no bugs, most of the hotel desk staff was friendly and helpful. The linens were spotless and the towels are soft. Location, Location, Location... Take... more

This hotel was horrific. From the roach motels scattered around the room, the red shag carpet, the minimal space, and the adjoining bathroom with neighboring rooms, the price doesn't even make it worth it. Not to mention the creepy dolls in the front lobby watching your every move. It should have an "ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK" sign. The only... more

I can't blame the staff on this one. I am sure they were not being paid very well so I had patience with them. The hotel is in shambles which explained the great rate for an Ocean front hotel. Rooms were dirty, bathrooms are shared (so I could here my nieghboring peeing in the middle of the night like he... more

I stayed here with my boyfriend on New Years Eve. The room is small, but it has a LOT of character! I guess it is typical for a place by the shore. The hotel is on the beach, so it gives a great view. The staff is extremely friendly and the rooms are very clean! The shower is in in... more

The building itself might be a little old, and the rooms a little compact, but great value! The hotel is right across the street from the beach! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices were decent and it's close to restaurants, an awesome club (can't remember the name), convenience store, etc. We're considering going back in 2007! more

I stayed at the Mayfair Hotel and i thought it was one of the nicest hotels i've ever stayed in on the Jersey Shore. The staff was excellent. Especially the woman Alex who greeted me at the front desk when i arrived. The view was amazing .. Belmar really does have the nicest beaches on the coast. I cant wait... more

I stayed at the Mayfair and thought it was a nice place. It is typical in style and age for the New Jersey shore... it's a sweet old place. I don't know of any Holiday INN styled places right on the beach... which I guess some people expect. I loved my few days at the Mayfair and plan on going... more
