I was surprised to see a majority of the people arriving had small children and there were many families with small children staying there. Not a bad thing but certainly unexpected for a spa resort. We stayed for three nights and never even attempted to use the pool after our first look. It was wall to wall and lots of... More

Driving up the road to the hotel, you will feel excited as you see the grand yellow hotel on your right. We pulled up and was greeted by eager to please bellhops and valets. Each time we arrived to the hotel from our daily excursions, we were always greeted. The front desk staff was very efficient with check in and... More

What a delightful find! This is a resort in the grand old world tradition that welcomes you with open arms. From the moment you arrive at this amazing property surrounded by forests and joy-inducing views of The White Mountains, the staff greets you warmly, carries your bags to your room using a classic, lever-operated elevator that you've probably only seen... We were overawed by the views of the White Mountains surrounding the hotel and the kind, helpful and very friendly service staff. The hotel is a large yellow and white building with many additions and an interesting history, which one can learn on an hotel history tour (Mitch did a wonderful job). In the summer there are lots and lots... More

The best way to describe Mountainview Grand Hotel would be an environment with people that were down to earth, a classy atmosphere and an emphasis on quality. The setting was beautiful and calming. Service was excellent as the staff was quite courteous and authentically friendly. Special regards to Noella who was genuine, a kind person and a terrific server, Hallee... More

This is our first time in this hotel or in New Hampshire in general. I've read all the reviews on line and thought that this would be the best place to stay for golf and relaxation. I was not particularly wrong in that respect, but wasn't right either. Here is why: Pro's: -Beautiful place and views -Nice golf course, but... More

I've never experienced such kind-hearted and generous treatment in a hotel as my dear friends and I did at the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa. We had been hiking the very challenging Presidential Range in New Hampshire, and extreme weather, a broken finger, and overtaxed knees forced us to cut our trip a day short. That meant trying to... It may be a little overpriced, but the ambience and peaceful surroundings make up for that. The hotel has great history and it makes you feel like you are in another time. WE went in March, during the blizzard, so we really looked forward to a stress free stay and they did not let us down. We ordered room service,... More

We've recently returned from our 3rd visit to the MVG. We really enjoyed our stay. The resort has lots of history and a nice atmosphere. The views are incredible on a nice day. We enjoyed the pools and activities very much. The axe throwing is great as was the trivia game we played with Ms. Baker and her team. We... More

On our way to Siddler Green's we stopped for lunch and visit the grounds. My friend had already been there a couple of times and wanted to show me how beautiful and ''woaw'' this place is. I will go back for sure!! This place is amazing! Meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean. I'm in love with the wine cellar and the... More

Founded in 1865 and set on 1,700 acres with sweeping views of the White Mountains, Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa is New England's premier historic mountain resort. It was the only resort or hotel in the state to earn AAA Four Diamond awards in both Lodging and Dining for since 2008. With stellar dining choices from the gourmet selections in the wine cellar to casual meals in the Tavern or spectacular views at the seasonal Club House and Veranda, guests find a style and price to fit their mood. With a full-time Activities Department and complimentary children's programs, guests enjoy hiking, kayaking, biking, indoor and outdoor pools, a health and wellness center, golf on the resort's historic course, and four Classic Clay tennis courts. Mountain View also provides the opportunity to choose from over 500 movie selections in the in-house movie theater. Mountain View Farm features friendly animals at the Big Red Barn. Evening activities include marshmallow toasting over an open campfire. Conde Nast Traveler named Mountain View one of North America's top five resort spas for 2008. There are great views high in the landmark Tower Spa, with an infinity-edge Sok tub and side-by-side massages a specialty. The Presidential Suite has spectacular vistas, a private wet bar, fireplace, flat-screen TVs, hand-painted furniture, and a lovely dining area with French doors. The elegant master bedroom has a king-size bed and cozy window nook while the master bath features a luxury whirlpool. Business meetings are served in 20,000 square feet of flexible conference space with built-in AV equipment and reliable internet and cell phone service.
