We had an excellent stay, the staff was accommodating and sincerely tried to make your stay the best possible. The hotel is historic, beautifully maintained and stunning. We would definitely stay again.

I took my three grandkids back to this hotel, because of its proximity to Santa's summer home, but also because of all they offer for kids. I love the grounds the views and the atmosphere of this spot. My grand daughters were especially happy with the Mountaineer Club, which they were not able to partake in last trip. Ms. Baker... More

We chose this resort for the views and the spa, neither of which disappointed. The grounds and view are excellent and the gym/spa are 5 star (except no steam room and average facilities in general). We did the sok tub in the tower room and that was a highlight of the trip. However everything else was 2-3 stars max. The... More

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. Wonderful experience. Incredibly accommodating, staff was excellent, perfect for families. The kids loved the game room, campfires, pools, camp, movies, proximity to Santas village and Mount Washington. Most of all they loved the Labor Day carnival. The staff did an excellent job putting this on and the kids had a blast. This was our... More

I would most certainly come back as this place has done almost everything right, I just would not stay in the room we had again. (Room 251) First, the view when you drive in is spectacular, the staff assisting with luggage and check in could not have been nicer. I would go so far as to say each staff member... More

We just completed a two night stay at the Mountain View Grand Hotel in August. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Hotel itself is a grand old historic building but has been beautifully and has been well maintained since. Our room was spacious and nicely appointed. The view from the front porch is amazing! The food in the dining room was very... More

My husband and I have been coming to this hotel since it re-opened back in 2002. There have been vast improvements to the amenities, and it is truly a beautiful hotel with fantastic food, breathtaking views, and plenty of fun things for our children to do now. I was not expecting, however, to see a lesbian wedding at the resort... More

There are so many things to recommend this resort. The setting is on a mountain with a spectacular view. One of the highlights are the animals and their friendly handler. She introduces guests to the llamas, goats, sheep, rabbit, donkeys, and chickens, as well as their habits. The food and the staff (bar, waitresses, and kitchen) are superb. The food... More

My girlfriend and I recently spent two night/three days at the Mountain View Grand. We were looking for an easy get away to New Hampshire and chose Mountain View based on a friend's recommendation. Upon booking, we were concerned there may not be a lot to do based on how far it is from North Conway (my only real knowledge... More

The Mountain View Grand is a beautiful, historic hotel with nice mountain views all around. We stayed in a suite and were very pleased with the room. The bed was super comfy and the room was nice & quiet. The amenities are nice - the hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts, hiking/mountain biking trails, hot tub... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Founded in 1865 and set on 1,700 acres with sweeping views of the White Mountains, Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa is New England's premier historic mountain resort. It was the only resort or hotel in the state to earn AAA Four Diamond awards in both Lodging and Dining for since 2008. With stellar dining choices from the gourmet selections in the wine cellar to casual meals in the Tavern or spectacular views at the seasonal Club House and Veranda, guests find a style and price to fit their mood. With a full-time Activities Department and complimentary children's programs, guests enjoy hiking, kayaking, biking, indoor and outdoor pools, a health and wellness center, golf on the resort's historic course, and four Classic Clay tennis courts. In winter, it's time for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snow tubing, ice skating, snowmobiling, and dog sled adventures. Mountain View also provides the opportunity to choose from over 500 movie selections in the in-house movie theater. Mountain View Farm features friendly animals at the Big Red Barn. Evening activities include marshmallow toasting over an open campfire. Conde Nast Traveler named Mountain View one of North America's top five resort spas for 2008. There are great views high in the landmark Tower Spa, with an infinity-edge Sok tub and side-by-side massages a specialty. The Presidential Suite has spectacular vistas, a private wet bar, fireplace, flat-screen TVs, hand-painted furniture, and a lovely dining area with French doors. The elegant master bedroom has a king-size bed and cozy window nook while the master bath features a luxury whirlpool. Business meetings are served in 20,000 square feet of flexible conference space with built-in AV equipment and reliable internet and cell phone service. Mountain View specializes in storybook weddings in the domed Crystal Ballroom with its famed hand-painted ceiling or the century-old gazebo on Grand Fountain Terrace. Mountain View Grand is 100% wind-powered and has been recognized as an Environmental Champion by the NH Lodging & Restaurant Association.
