We originally planned to stay three nights, but the inn and surrounding community were so enjoyable, that we added a fourth to our trip. From a quiet dinner at the inn's restaurant to tea in the afternoon in front of the fire in the parlor, to playing with Sophie (the sometime-resident feline) each moment at the Chesterfield Inn was a... more

First let me say this is a very nice inn in a very good location (minutes from Keene, N.H., and Brattleboro, Vt.). We stayed in the king suite, which was very comfortable and romantic. Our room had a gas fireplace, which added to the ambience. The food is also very good (not outstanding). The problem was the service. First off,... more

We pride ourselves on our excellent service here and were surprised to read this review. This amounts to several misunderstandings that we could have and should have rectified immediately. The Romance Package (which includes a substantial discount) was not booked by the guest so we were not prepared with the fresh flowers. The Direct TV installation was on an emergency...

We took a long weekend here recently and really enjoyed our stay. The people were very welcoming and friendly and also very helpful. We ate breakfast here on both mornings and enjoyed it very much. We also had dinner one night here and were pleasantly surprised by how interesting the menu was. My only complaint was that the coffee at... more

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good and the dining room had a lovely view. Our room however was disappointing. The sheets were a dingy gray. I'm pretty that sure at some time in history they were white. The blankets were visibly old and not in a charming way. The mattresses were old and very... more

We were happy to find a bed and breakfast that allows chldren. Rooms were clean and a nice size. Lots of water problems - water pressure and no water at certain times during the stay. Staff was apologetic but could have offered a little something for the inconvenience. more

Thanks for the honest feedback; sometimes things happen that are out of our control and we do our best to rectify them. Because the water problems were intermittent, we weren't sure who was effected by them, and tried to make amends with everyone who had a problem. Obviously we missed this guest, and I have been in touch with her...

We discovered this elegant country inn online and, impressed by its attractive, information-rich website, booked a 4 night stay for late September. The inn is conveniently located near Rte 91 in southern New Hampshire, less than 21/2 hours' drive from our home in Fairfield County, CT. The main structure, which began as a farmhouse, has great bones. A spacious wing... more

The service was friendly and cooperative. The surroundings were clean and well appointed. The breakfast was well presented and relaxing served in a lovely dinning room. We were even greeted by the Inn's cats upon our return home. more

The location between Keene, NH and Brattleboro, VT was ideal for shopping and gallery visting. Our room afforded us beautiful countryside views of a meadow, mountains and cornfields as well as lovely landscaped grounds. The food was delicious, the service superb. And best of all we were able to bring a very important family member, our dog Zoey! We plan... more
