My family booked through Groupon a stay this past mid week here. What can I say? I used to work at a 5 star hotel in downtown Boston, so that might attribute to the 2 star only for the Lodge. Anyway, they gave us room 110 in the basement when they barely had many guests stay that night. I'm sure... More

We are very sorry for the inconvenience and negative experience that you had. The room issues have been addressed. We understand your reluctance to visit us again, but would love the opportunity to earn your business again in the future. We really enjoyed our visit to the mountains of NH and your lodge. Our "apartment" was spacious and very comfortable. Unfortunately we were mid week after Labor Day and most of the facilities available on the "pass" were not open. We really wanted to do the chair lift.

Great place to stay. The suite we were in was very clean but really needs to be updated....the furniture was the type with wooden frames and loose cushions. The pool is very nice and the ability to grab a cup of coffee in the lobby was appreciated. I love the fact that it's close to the Town Square...but not too... More

It was a hot humid day and when we arrived the AC was not on. The AC was not strong enough to cool the entire unit. Our daughter slept on the pull out couch, which was old and uncomfortable. Overall the room was dated and not worth the price we paid:(

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I'm so sorry that we failed to meet your expectations. We are working hard with each unit owner to upgrade each and every room. We came up for a girls weekend at the end of August. There were 4 of us and we fit perfectly in our condo. It seemed clean and I liked having a kitchen. I loved the little village in walking distance! Lots of fun things to do nearby and in walking distance that we didn't even have time for. Looking... More

The lodge is about a block from the town square, the area with the shops, restaurants, entertainment, and bike and boat rentals. There is also a new fitness center with a gym, pool, spa. The lodge has a indoor/outdoor pool, but no restaurant on site. The walk to town square was nice in the sumner, plenty of lighting after dark.... More

We were very happy with our condo. Had what we needed. Each one is owned so each unit is different. The staff were great friendly group of people. Short walk to town square were most activities take place, also shops and dining. We were very happy with our stay and will return

This is our second time at Black Bear and we will definitely come back. The loft room was the perfect size for our family. The fully stocked kitchen and nearby grocery store helped with our budgeting. The staff is friendly and willing to help with everything including printing tickets we had ordered online since we had no printer! The lake,... More

Great location in the middle of the mountains. We got there late at night and check in was seamless to get us right up to our rooms, or should I say ROOMS. There was only 2 of us, but the room could sleep up to 6. Nice layout, so you didn't feel on top of everyone if you had more.... More

Had a perfect vacation. Staying at Black Bear only enhanced and filled the rest of our trip. It was nice having the all access pass that came with hotel. Included kayak, mountain bikes, athletic club and lift tickets. Had a really nice time in Waterville Valley.
