Great location in the middle of the mountains. We got there late at night and check in was seamless to get us right up to our rooms, or should I say ROOMS. There was only 2 of us, but the room could sleep up to 6. Nice layout, so you didn't feel on top of everyone if you had more.... More

Had a perfect vacation. Staying at Black Bear only enhanced and filled the rest of our trip. It was nice having the all access pass that came with hotel. Included kayak, mountain bikes, athletic club and lift tickets. Had a really nice time in Waterville Valley.

My family is a frequent visitor to Waterville Valley and we always stay at the Black Bear Lodge because we love the location, the rooms are great and the staff is excellent. The location is great because it is far enough away from Town Square to be quiet, but not so far away that you can't get to where you... More

Booked the loft with AC and loved it! the furniture is updated since the picture, so was pleasantly surprised. The bunk bed was fun, our son loved that! Front desk was helpful in giving our Freedom Passes prior earlier in the day so we could play while waiting for the room. However, when we came back to check in, the... More

Traveled to Waterville Valley for a family reunion and stayed at the Black Bear Lodge in a room that accommodates 8. The room was ok. There was one bathroom but it was clean and staff cleaned it daily. There was a sink and large vanity right outside of the bathroom which was convenient. There was a small kitchen and open... More

We attended this lodge as part of a hockey group. Rooms are equipped with beds, couch, closet bed, etc. Front desk staff very helpful and always in a great mood. Complimentary coffee in the morning and many daily activities available throughout the day included in the hotel freedom pass. Our younger kids really enjoyed the biking, kayaks, paddle boats, chair... More

I've been going to Black Bear Lodge for over 20 years. Started when my children were small and now with my grandchildren. When we first went to our room it was not the room with the trundle beds that I thought I had booked. I went to the desk and they kindly upgraded us to another room. My only. Complaint... More

We have had our family reunions at the Black Bear Lodge since 1992 and have enjoyed them all. This reunion was no exception. The staff was very accommodating with all requests and went out of their way to insure our visit was a success.

They need to invest in the rooms. Routine upgrading needs to be done to make the rooms comfortable. The people working there are fantastic, they are always willing to provide assistance, but it is time to take some money and do some upgrades
