This Hotel standing in its own grounds with great views over the White Mountains was welcoming in every respect. You come into a large square reception area which is laid out like a lounge with comfortable couches and a real blazing fire. The Hotel was built by the Carson family and one of the daughters continues to run it. She... More

This lodge has a very "Homey" feeling with an inviting two story lobby and warm wood burning fireplace. This lodge is family owned since it was built and the owner makes everyone feel welcome and runs it more like a B&B than a motel. The rooms are large, very clean and many have excellent mountain views. They are all accessed... More

During our time in the US/Canada we stayed in 16 Bed and Breakfast/Inn properties. As we approached Carlson's Lodge I tried to explain to my wife that some reviews on Trip Advisor called this place basic. As we had some luxury accommodation on this trip I was worried she may not be impressed by my choice. I need not have... More

Pros Large room, free wifi (a bit slow at 2 to 3 Mbps, cuts out often), Free breakfast, but not until 8 am. Nothing hot, just toast, oj, coffee, cereal. Friendly proprietor, helpful suggestions about area. Cons Very informal lodge. Desk clerk in t-shirt and bare feet. Lobby seems a bit cluttered, chaotic, and musty. Outside grounds not neat. No... I travel a lot and stay regularly in the chain hotels because you know what you are getting and if something isn't right you know they have to sort it out. This hotel restored my faith in independent family run places. The minute you walk through the door you can feel how loved and well taken care of the place... More

I would definitely recommend this place. Very friendly atmosphere, very clean. Just great place to go. The owner makes you feel at home. My husband and I found this place on accident years ago on our anniversary. Now we come back year after year for our anniversary.

I booked four rooms for my RTB Relay team and we all had a great experience. The staff was perfectly helpful and friendly - from walking us to our rooms to ensuring there was morning coffee - and even bringing a pair of shoes we left to the event! Rooms were very nice, clean with great beds and carpet. No... More

I took my granddaughter on a journey that started in the White Mountains. This was a great start, the location to the cog railway and ziplines was less than 20 minutes of gorgeous mountains. The proprietor of this family run business was beyond friendly and helpful! Clean comfy and a decent cup of morning coffee!!

My husband and I went up to NH for the first time together and came across Carlson's Lodge while doing some research in the area. It was a very vintage motel, but the accommodations were excellent. Our room was 117, a smaller full sized room, but was perfect for the two of us. We truly enjoyed the hospitality and we... More
