Carol was the best and you can tell she really cares about her property and guest comfort. Our corner room was spacious and very clean. The lodge offers games to be played outside on their lawn and a pool table downstairs, which my 13 year old son couldn't get enough of.

Based on other reviews my husband and I decided to stay here for 4 days during the peak fall season. Although first impressions left me a little leary, even with a slight "creep factor", our overall stay was a big success. The lobby was a bit dated and musty, but when Carol showed us to our room we were nothing... More

We stay here often, because you can always count on friendly folks, a clean, neat room with as many amenities as one could ask for and wonderful surrounds. What we really like is that you always get what you expect, and what we expect is what we get, plus a little more. We love it here as well as the... More

This lodge is a very quiet, restful and relaxing way to get away from it all and enjoy some beautiful scenery. It is exactly as described- a lodge setting. Our room was very spacious and very clean-set up quite well .The bathroom was newly renovated and up-dated, and also set up well The owner goes out of her way to... More

What a find! My husband and I have just stayed at Carlson Lodge during our recent visit to the White Mountains, and we weren't disappointed. The lodge was a welcome change from the chain hotels we have stayed in throughout our visit to New England. It's very traditional and this is what makes it such a special place. I felt... More

Being a frequent traveler to Northern NH, I have stayed at many area lodging establishments. Carlson's Lodge by far is my favorite. The location is fabulous set back from the road it is quiet and peaceful and all rooms have a view. The rooms are wonderful, comfortable beds, no noisy wall blowers for heat and AC. To top it off... I recently stayed at Carlson's Lodge as I was in the area for business. It was a very pleasant experience. The size of my room was large (larger than other lodges I have stayed in), with plenty of room to work in -- and it was quiet. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I had a fabulous view of the... More

We have stayed at numerous lodging establishments in the Twin Mountain area and we were hoping that with the increased room rate of Carlson's Lodge, compared to some of the other motels we have stayed at, that we would also find an increase in quality accommodation. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The room was outdated; the bed was terribly... More

Recently stayed at Carlson's Lodge to attend my nephew's wedding at the top of Mt Washington, the Lodge is just what to expect in this setting, the owner gave great recommendations for breakfast very knowledgeable of the area as was everyone who lives in the region. It was a very short trip but I look forward to staying there again... More

For a longer vacation throughout New England we deliberately chose Trip Advisor recommended accommodations for value. In hindsight, we wouldn't have stayed at Carlson's-- being nearly an hour from Mt. Washington -- our destination. Be careful as Carlson's has a strict no cancellations policy. Driving up 302, it doesn't look like Twin Mountain has the most posh accommodations but Carlson's... More
