The Anchorage is a great place to get away and relax. There are plenty of things to do canoeing, fishing and many sites to see in that area. You wake up each morning right on the lake and spend the day on the beach. The cabins are rustic, but cozy. There are screen porches on each cabin so even the... more

Just there 3rd week August, 09. Seven of us - (4 adults 3 young children). We arrived early and owners said go into cabin early. Cabins/beds really clean. Beach and water are so clean, beautiful for young children. We had great weather and great time. I would recommend bringing own cooking utensils. as they say location - location - location... more

What an amazing way to wake up each morning - looking out over the calm lake with a family of 18 ducks gliding by as the sun comes up! My daughter thought she would have a horrible time and our son was curious as he can't survive without a TV! Both talked all the way home about the great outdoor... more

This is the first time our family has gotten away from the usual commute for hours, stay at a hotel, and see the local attractions type of vacation. I searched the internet for New Hampshire rentals and found Anchorage at the Lake. It looked like everything you could ask for in a relaxing, slow-paced vacation, and it was. Now I... more

It was awful. $200 per night - for nothing! could have stayed at a 4 star hotel with pool, bar, resturant and amenities. Surprised this place hasn't been shut down. would have been more comfortable and cheaper - sleeping in our car. cabins are way to small for families. no tv, movies, games, kids and you will be bored and... more

The cabins were great! Rustic with modern ammenities. Met a family of 27 that make the trip annually, so they were seasoned to the living without TV or telephone (which we found we didn't miss at all!!!!) Tanger outlets just a couple miles down the road. Paddle boats, canoes, swimming in the lake, giant campfire and SMORES! We spent our... more

We are a family of six (four hard to please teens). The Anchorage was recommended to me by my oldest son's doctor. They have been vacationing there for the past few years. I'm so happy we gave it a shot. There is no getting around the fact that the Anchorage is rustic nor "inexpensive". Having said that...we have already booked... more

What a huge disappointment. Please do not waste your money - this place is so bad. We paid 195 per night for a crappy, stinky dump. I am not a picky person and usually do not take the time to write reviews like this. However, I do not want anyone else to make the mistake we did. I am all... more

I was sorry to learn of this guests poor experience at our property. Although we are certainly not the property for everyone we do strive to offer a no frills quite, comfortable and relaxing time at our lake front cabins. We are trying to reach out to this guest so that we may address and correct their concerns.
