They sure know how to make it look good online. Got to the cabin and I felt like I walked into my great-grandmothers house which is dated to the early 70's. Terrible old amenities like refrigerator and stove top. Floors were dirty, shower was nasty and kinda falling apart, the sink had a large rust stain from 40 years of... More

Great place to chill out and make memories. Inn keepers were very nice and helpful. Cabins were plain, clean, and comfortable. No TV, no radio, no clocks no problem. A great place to just be. Plus it's dog friendly! We will be back, thank you!!!

Recently just spent a weekend at Anchorage at the Lake with a group of friends. We were able to get one of the cabins right on the lake which I would definitely recommend. The site had a large field and beach to hang out on and play wiffle ball or other games. Great views of the lake. It was also... More

I am partial to this resort because I grew there, but...... Still love it after all these years. If you enjoy the outdoors it's a fantastic getawa,y while still being close to town and fun attractions. Awesome place to to let the kids runaround and play! The Anchorage is the kind of place that is what you make of it,... More

No TV's, no internet..how wonderful. Rustic cabins (with heat if needed) quite dated in decor but so comfortable and fun! We were in a lakefront cabin with 2 bedrooms and 2 double beds in each room. Each cabin has a charcoal BBQ and some have fire rings for nightly fires. We played board games at night or sat out by... More

We stayed at this little gem of a place over this past weekend. It was a great way for our family to end the summer. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, our cabin was a couple minute walk to the lake and beaches, and we had a beautiful view from our porch each morning. The private beaches were wonderful, and the... More

It is definitely rough around the edges. However it has new owners within the year and currently being worked back up to a proper level. Want to get you (and your kids?) unplugged? This is the place _ no TV no wi-fi. 14 year old in our group said "my friends would be so jealous" Want a beach - they... More

As a child, my family used to visit The Anchorage at the Lake every year. It was always beautiful, kept up, and clean. Now that I have my own family, I decided to go back to my childhood vacation spot with my husband and daughter. If I only knew... When we arrived, there was nobody at the office. We had... More

I stayed here for five days and four nights for a family get together and loved it. During our trip my family rented three cabins, rented kayaks, rented canoes, swam in the lake and generally had a great time. We relaxed and visited with each other. The place isn't fancy but adequate and the management helpful.
