where to begin? the heat only worked intermittently, on three days with temps in the low 40s, when it works the rooms boil but windows cannot be opened since they are either painted or nailed shut; plumbing in two rooms was essentially non-functional: sinks did not drain, tubs did not drain, and toilets were leaking throughout the night regardless of... more

My husband and I were recently married at Dexter's Inn and would highly recommend it. The location was fantastic, the staff very hospitable and friendly, and the rates and fees were affordable. The Inn owners went above and beyond to make our wedding run smoothly (despite rainy weather) and guests happy. We got nothing but positive feedback from our guests... more

we stayed at dexter's inn in late august as part of a large, extended family reunion and it was the perfect space to accommodate a large group ranging in age from infant to 70+. the main house had plenty of space for people to eat, chat & interact comfortably, plus the separate, large refrigerator in the back room of the... more

I am a business traveler and rarely stay at an Inn when I am working. I feel like consistency is essential when you are on a tight schedule and have work to do. My stay at Dexter's Inn was fantastic and caused me to revisit my rationales. The Innkeeper was kind and flexible. The Inn was nice and cozy. I... more

My longtime friends and children (w/o husbands) stayed at the Holly House from February 5th - February 8th, 2009. The Holly House was perfect for us. We had lots of room and cooked our own meals there. It was a 10 minute ride to Mt. Sunapee, which was perfect. John, the host of the Inn, was excellent and very friendly.... more

My husband and I spent a weekend at Dexter's Inn and it was wonderful! One note up front - we were one of very few people in the B&B so that meant it was lovely and quiet. I imagine the peacefulness depends very much who else is there! The room we stayed in was very large with a private bathroom.... more

My family spent the weekend at Dexter's in January and had a wonderful time. We were on a ski weekend with friends as well and the inn was an excellent homebase for the group. It is very family-friendly and the innkeeper John made us feel right at home. It has been a very snowy January in the northeast so the... more

I was part of the reunion in pqw's review. I agree that Dexter's was great. The grounds were beautifully manicured with gorgeous flower beds and expansive green lawns. There is a large deck with outdoor dining furniture. We enjoyed playing shuffleboard and swimming in the pool. The breakfasts were awesome- not the typical cereal and toast of other hotels. We... more

After I had booked this inn for a family reunion, I read a bad review on this site and I got nervous that my family reunion of 24 people would be unsuccessful due to the bad place I picked out. Thank God, this was not the case. John and the entire crew went out of their way to meet our... more

we planned a ski vacation and booked the inn on line. all seemed fine until we arrived. had booked a "condo" unit because we had our small dog with us, 2 bedrooms, l/r and a bath. we picked this because they have cross country on site and close to mt. sunapee ski area. we arrived and all seemed fine, nothing... more
