Absolutely gorgeous view of mountains - good proximity to town, skiing, etc. I regretted getting one of their "packages" because it really wasn't worth the extra money. The gift basket we received (which was surely included in the price) was shockingly cheap. A bottle of maple syrup, a blank note pad, a few pieces of Dove chocolate, a half melted... more

This hotel makes it money as a wedding venue. They are very proud of how many they've held. Do not bother going if you are not part of a wedding. The attendees of a wedding are a different breed and have different expectations from travellers looking for a bed for the night. Like another reviewer, we were given that Fawlty... more

Everything about my stay at the Sunset Hill House was fantastic. The room was very nice (roomy, well decorated, home-y) and the bed/chairs were all quite comfortable. The view is actually even more impressive than the website's pictures show. The food in the restaurant was truly incredible, and the bit I ate in the Tavern was good as well. The... more

We decided to spend our 25th wedding anniversary in New Hampshire and Sunset Hill House was recommended by a friend. We could not have went to a nicer place to spend this special time together. The room, service, food, and hospitality was far above what we expected. The other guests that we met at the Sunset Hill House also had... more

I also hesitated about booking a room at this inn, after reading some of the reviews, but was really happy that we chose this inn, and would recommend it to others. My husband and I were looking for a quiet,well-situated inn where we could stay a couple of nights before picking up our son at a nearby tennis camp. We... more

Overall, our weekend at the Sunset Hill House wasn't a total disaster. But we will never be going back due to the poor service and the total rip-off prices for the average accomodations and food. I knew that there would be problems when we checked in and the girl at the desk acted like she was doing us a favor.... more

Once again we have had a delicious holiday "escape" at Sunset Hill House. The genuine warmth and charming informality of the staff is a welcome balm for we world weary and jaded vacationers. The views are loaded with aesthetic enchantment, the food defies description- fresh, innovative, at once homey and cosmopolitan, all served with grace and without pretense. And the... more

Stayed for 4 nights for a family wedding. Beautiful rooms, spectacular views and ideal location for the whole of the White Mountains. The attention to detail for the wedding was second to none as was the service throughout our stay. We even saw a bear close by. more

We had a wonderful time. We did get a little concerned after reading some of the negative reviews, but so many of the things that concerned us just weren't true. Our experience was very positive. Check in was easy--our room was ready, and it was lovely, clean and with the gorgeous view of the mountains. Each time we asked for... more

My family stayed at the Sunset Hill House four nights, from August 3rd-7th, 2008. Our expectations were tempered a bit, having read the reviews before arrival. I think this helped us enjoy our stay a bit more. The good: The mountain views are, indeed, superb, and directions to the Inn were excellent. Check-in was quick, and we were up to... more
