The Hilltop Inn, Sugar Hill, New Hampshire Charming turn of the century inn located in the heart of the White Mountains. Sits atop Sugar Hill near Franconia. We stayed at other places in the area for many years before discovering this gem 7 years ago. We now would go nowhere else in this area. Close to several ski areas (Cannon,... More

Mike and Meri are wonderful innkeepers who will enjoy hosting your dog as much as [read: more than] you! The area's surroundings are beautiful--even in 11-degree weather--and the inn allows you to kick back and relax in a super casual atmosphere after a fun day exploring the mountains and nearby towns. Be sure not to sleep too late or you'll... More

This bed and breakfast offers clean, quaint rooms, very friendly and helpful innkeepers and welcomes dogs. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. It's charming and relaxing and any season you will find great restaurants and plenty of activities to keep you busy. Or just relax by the woodstove! Love it!

If you're looking for a friendly, welcoming bed and breakfast experience, this is it! The owners will make you feel like family and you will surely feel comfortable relaxing in the quintessential New England atmosphere. The rooms are super clean and equipt with all the necessary amenities but still hold on to the charm of a country inn. Lots to... More

Most comfortable stay we have ever had before. Ten of us took over the Hilltop Inn this past weekend and had a very enjoyable stay. We felt right at home with Mike and Meri while taking over the place!!! Rooms were cozy, the living and dining room large and comfortable for us to enjoy ourselves Saturday night playing cards, talking... More

The inn may be in need of a fresh coat of paint, but the hospitality is genuine. Meri and Mike were great hosts! The inn is furnished with lots of knick-knacks. Our room (room 2) was comfortable and well-furnished. Just be aware than central heat comes on late at night; use the ceiling fan or open a window to keep... More

...it really is like coming home. This is our third or fourth visit, and we and our dogs were welcomed back like family. I have never felt so relaxed and comfortable and truly welcome as I do when we're at the HillTop, watching the dogs all gambol together in the yard, and sipping wine and catching up with Meri and... From the tranquil location in New Hampshire's White Mountains and the enchanting Victorian rooms (with free wi-fi!), to the delicious home-cooked breakfast, this was a wonderful experience! Highly recommended; we can't wait to come back!

We celebrated the 4th of July at The Hilltop Inn over the long weekend. The owners Meri and Mike were very welcoming and made us aware of the opportunities to participate in many down home community events including a 4th of July potluck supper, parade, flea market & duck race. Being able to travel with my dog, Quincy, made the... More

Very accommodating for dog lovers. Doggie guests have full run of the house and are invited on furniture and allowed to stay in the house even when you are gone. Owner's two medium size dogs can be unruly. I would not stay here with small children. Grounds are nice and don't miss trails in back of house which provide a... More
