We set Rochester New Hampshire as our lodging destination for a September 2007 evening. We were enticed by it having a “Residence Inn” on our GPS. However, the Residence Inn had nothing to do with Marriott. It was an old rundown strip motel. There were 2 or 3 other motels, which also were run down strips well past their prime. One appeared to have several families living there. We found one cottage type motel, which was reasonably well maintained, but the cottages were so tiny, we opted not to stay there. We had to drive on to Concord NH to find lodging. more
