This B&B is a nice cross between a small hotel and a true bed and breakfast. It has many of the offerings of small hotels with 30+ rooms, WiFi, cable television, air conditioning, and private baths for every room. It also leans toward a traditional B&B by providing a good morning breakfast consisting of cereals, oatmeal, fruits, breakfast pastries, muffins,... more

On check-in, the desk clerk was unable to provide basic information such as when the outside doors were locked at night. We later found out that there is a breakfast room with complimentary breakfast, which was fairly good, but that information was not given to us at check-in either. It was really just "here is your key, the room is... more

It was important to us to stay downtown so we researched the Hilton, Sise Inn and Ale House and got the best rate at the Sise Inn and were very very happy. It is much bigger than a normal "B&B" - more like a cross between a hotel and b&b which suited us perfectly. The staff was very friendly and... more

This hotel is in a stately old mansion and has a limited number of rooms. It is a very picturesque hotel in very picturesque Portsmouth. The desk is well situated to follow what is happening and to attend promptly to any request. It was nearly always manned and the clerks were always helpful and friendly. It seemed like it was... more

44 room inn, each room unique with antiques. Lovely living room and dining area for lounging. Serves continental breakfast. Staff is friendly and make you feel at home - very accommodating. Inn is located in the heart of Portsmouth and is rated 4-1/2 stars. You can walk to view local historic sites. No children allowed. We would definitely return -... more

I'm originally from Portsmouth, so I've never stayed at a hotel there. I wanted to be somewhere that felt like staying with old friends and this place is it! The innkeeper and her staff are excellent! Truly like friends instead of just employees. I spent hours chatting with them at all hours. The location is perfect for walking around downtown,... more

We stayed in the Sise Inn for one night on our recent road trip through New England. Portsmouth is a truly beautiful town. Its buildings are old and grand, its homes are beautiful and the harbour picturesque. The Sise Inn is a sort of hybrid B&B: set in a very large, very grand old home within walking distance to everywhere... more

The Sise Inn was a very pleasent place to stay, two minor oddities were the sink in an alcove outside the main bathroom and the fairly noisy bed which creaked like mad even if you turned over during the night. Minor points only, the Inn itself is nicely decorated and the staff were very nice, parking was more than adequate... more

This was a really nice inn/B & B to stay in during our trip to Portsmouth. The front desk was awesome, so helpful and friendly! Our room was huge! The bathroom was split between the shower/toilet and the sink/clothing rack. It was a great design, not usually seen in hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and... more

My husband and I had a very nice stay at the Sise Inn this past winter. The rooms are cozy and clean and the staff is pleasant. It's not quite a hotel, not quite a b&b, so you get the charm and homey feel of a b&b, but the privacy and continental breakfast of a hotel (the continental breakfast was... more
