I recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Anchorage Inn. We had booked one night, but arrived a day early to see if we could extend our stay. The man on the desk was very helpful and not only extended our stay but upgraded us to a family suite in order to do so. Downtown Portsmouth is a 20... More

I was happy when we got to this hotel. The generally good reviews are accurate, and I don't always think that! It's clean, modern, and generic, in exactly the way you'd want it to be for a few nights in this area. It's right off the highway but set off in such a way that it didn't seem noisy (at... More

We are repeat customers and will continue to be. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The (complimentary) breakfast room is nice and is a quick stop to fill up before going about our business or pleasure (as was the case this time). We had a wonderful time in the Portsmouth and Southern Maine area.

My husband and I needed a place to stay in Portsmouth, which can be very expensive this time of the year. We found this particular hotel on hotels.com and got it for 50.00 less than on any other site. The front desk staff was very friendly upon check in. Upon getting to our room we were greeted by an immaculately... More

We stayed at the Anchorage for a one night stop over before moving on. Our room was OK, a bit shabby, but importantly was very clean. There was also free wireless which was very handy. In terms of location, you can't really walk anywhere, so you would need a car or to get taxis to places, but there is ample... More

The Anchorage Inn in Portsmouth is your average motel. The rooms are clean, internet is available, and there is a swimming pool. However, it is located just in between US1 and I95 which makes for a nice soundscape. The price is okay, if you plan to visit Portsmouth. If not (and I think there is not much reason to) you... We stayed 2 nights at the Anchorage Inns & Suites while visiting New Hampshire. It was a reasonably priced, clean, convenient place to stay. The price included a simple continental breakfast. However, the room seemed a bit too small for 2 adults and 2 children. The thing I did not like was the bathroom door had a glass panel, so... More

As advertised, the rooms were clean. We always had plenty of clean towels, soap, or toilet paper. We did have an electronic key that liked to play games at times when I would go out to smoke. The spa was very nice, even though the pool is advertised as heated, it was pretty cold. This is a still a good... More

Sadly, our stay wasn't so good. They didn't have the room type that we had booked and were stuck in a room that we didn't want. It seemed odd that they didn't have a king non-smoking room even though the parking lot was easily 1/2 empty at midnight. The bed seemed like it had plastic wrapping on it underneath the... More
