Just spent a couple of nights in this hotel and I must say if was a pleasant surprise. From the front desk to the cleaning staff everyone was warm and helpful! This is definitely not your upscale Marriott or Even Comfort Inn but instead is a niche hotel renovated not too long ago located in short walking distance to the... More

Best recommendation for the Hotel Portsmouth. It's a beautiful and comfortable hotel, with excellent service, large rooms, and extra touches throughout. We were only there one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. Portsmouth was fun, and the Hotel Portsmouth a great place to come back to.

We went to Portsmouth for a family wedding with our 3 kids (5, 7, 9) and this was the hotel were some rooms were blocked off. We ended up being in the "King Penthouse Suite" since we had the 3 kids. There was so much space! There were bunk beds and a cot for the kids, a sitting room with... More

This was our second visit to The Portsmouth Hotel, like the new patio. The beds, room, staff, breakfast room & location are top notch. Have and will continue to recommend it to all. Looking forward to seeing you again next spring.

The service and accommodation was absolutely amazing. We had an unbelievable stay at this very trendy hotel. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay in Portsmouth, and look forward to coming back to this historic home.

We went to Portsmouth for our anniversary weekend. I listed this in our reservation and we were surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the king suite. The decor is so pretty and the bed was very comfy. They provide you with a iPad in the room with links to recommended restaurants and sites to visit. Continental breakfast is light but... More

Portsmouth is our favorite New Hampshire town besides our home town of Holderness on Squam Lake. We discovered this hotel while walking around town. Very good location, lots of parking and that's hard to find in Portsmouth, breakfast is included, outdoor seating area, indoor seating area, large rooms, friendly staff, quiet neighborhood, and the hotel has a lot of character... My husband and I were in Portsmouth for nearly a week for his work in mid-September. After having a bad experience at another hotel in area, we reached out to the Hotel Portsmouth and from the initial arrangements over the phone (finding us just the perfect room of those available) through our entire time there we were delighted with the... We celebrated our anniversary in Portsmouth, like we usually do, though always at a chain hotel. We were "brave" this year and reserved The Hotel Portsmouth months ago, because Columbus Day weekend is usually quite busy! I was a little nervous that I wouldn't quite like this new place, that it'd be too different from what I'm used of. And... More

Stayed here for a few nights on a trip to visit family in Maine. My husband and I love Portsmouth and wanted to spend some time without the kids shopping and eating. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly offering great info for places to see and try. The hotel was clean and quiet and quite simply beautiful.
