My husband brought me to Portsmouth for my birthday and we stayed at The Hotel Portsmouth. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are very nicely done. Bed was very comfy, we didn't want to wake up in the morning! Nice offerings for tea/coffee and the breakfast was also good. I think my only issue was that there was... More

The Lark Hotels provide accommodating hotels and lovely locations with an attentive staff. We visited the Hotel Portsmouth the weekend before Christmas. We recently had an excellent experience at their sister hotel in Portsmouth, the Alehouse. In addition to all its comforts it was very quiet. The Hotel Portsmouth is in an excellent location with ample parking and very inviting.... More

We very much appreciate your thoughtful response on your stay with us and your understanding in light of this very unusual experience. The Hotel Portsmouth has always offered a very serene boutique stay, and the guests who choose us all tend to be searching for a similar experience. This is a situation that we had never previously encountered -- one... More

This beautiful building with high ceilings, fabulous woodwork; great bones, with a staff and approach to food that are welcoming and delicious, oh and very healthy. It sits on the edge of downtown Portsmouth, so walking through the whole town is easy. Enjoy!

Wonderful stay, staff were really friendly and accommodating. The rooms were really comfortable with iPad technology in the bedroom which was set up to give visitors information regarding the lovely town of Portsmouth and surrounding area of New Hampshire. The breakfasts were superb with a different selection of imaginative freshly made food on the menu each day. I wouldn't hesitate... More

We spent one night here and will return if we are in the area again. The Inn is very contemporary yet in an old building. Breakfast was small cold dishes freshly prepared with plenty of beverage choices. The common spaces were welcoming for sitting. The room was a good size. Our only complaint was only one side of the bed... More

We stayed here a few days after Christmas and enjoyed the atmosphere and accommodations. There's lots of great elements to this hotel. The staff are courteous and helpful. They have great sitting rooms to play games, read, or chat (by a fireplace no less). The rooms have character and feel cozy. It's definitely a place to consider when visiting Portsmouth.

Central location, easy walk to everywhere. Very clean room and well appointed. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Well worth the money. Some rooms with very modern decor while others are colonial - very well done wherever you end up!

There are many things to like about the Hotel Portsmouth. It is centrally located on a quiet, charming street just a couple of blocks away from theaters, shops and Strawbery Banke. There is ample free parking behind the hotel with a rear entrance so that you can get to the registration desk easily by taking the elevator up one floor.... More
