We love this hotel and the town of Portsmouth. We had a great room- 120- a beautiful suite with its own outside sitting area. Very, very comfortable and extremely clean. On top of all this, bringing our dog was welcomed and not a problem whatsoever. We have been here a handful of times and it has constantly upgraded and it... More

We stopped for one night on the way to Maine. Portsmouth is such a charming city with great restaurants. The Hotel Portsmouth is within walking distance of the central downtown area and waterfront. There is good parking in back of the hotel. The main level is gorgeous with beautiful woodwork and a grand staircase. We had a small queen room... More

My wife & I stayed at THP while on business. We opted for the smaller queen bed room b/c we were only staying one night. Upon arrival the staff was very welcoming and nice. We checked in & went to the room & unfortunately it was really dark & pretty depressing, and very basic. There was only 1 small window... More

We were a bit reluctant to book a room at the Hotel Portsmouth due to what seemed to be a bit of a walk to most of the rest of what attracted us to Portsmouth but in the end we were glad we did! Kerry of the front desk/concierge staff assured us that everything was within an easy walk and... More

A one night side trip to Portsmouth was made nearly perfect by our choice of this property. Great welcoming and informatively helpful staff. Great location (simple walk to main Portsmouth attractions). It has a nice inn-cozy feel. Our room was a nice combo of old inn and new upscale shower. Suggest floors 2 and 3. Simple, healthy breakfast: yogurt, home... More

I prefer the experience of a bed and breakfast to a mega chain hotel when I travel. I lived in Portsmouth for 10 years and remembered the Sise Inn, and thought it would be perfect for our romantic weekend getaway. At first I was disappointed that the Sise no longer existed. It was UNH graduation weekend and many places were... More

The 'hotel', is not a hotel. It has no concierge, room service, turn down service, etc. It is more like a B&B-a continental breakfast: juice, sweet bread, bagel, english muffin, coffee, yogurt, fruit. Eating area is nice, but small when the "hotel" is full, as it was when we were there. A lot of 'excuse me' going around. Our room was just inside... More

A very quaint hotel within walking distance to great restaurants. The room was perfect for our family very clean, new and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly offering great restaurant suggestions. In addition, our car's battery died and Dana jumped our car!! I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and will return Thank you thank you

We have been driving back and forth cross country for the last 13 years. The Hotel Portsmouth would be ranked in the top ten. The Hotel was clean, quiet, beautifully decorated, staff friendly, and walking distance to restaurants and harbor. Congratulations to the proprietors/caretakers for preserving this historical property.

174 year old building that is loaded with charm and history. The rooms are nicely remodeled with great showers! The sink area in our room was a bit small but nicely appointed. Loved the bed....so comfortable. This boutique hotel was walking distance to town and tons of restaurants and shops. It offered free parking and a nice complimentary breakfast. This... More
