We've initially booked one night as a quick stop in our way to Cape Cod but we've liked the hotel and Portsmouth so much that we decided to stay a little longer. What a great hotel. It's a beautiful old building with affordable large well decorated rooms. Great cross between old and new. We've had a separate bath and spacious... More

From a touch of Bates Motel in the entrance with the " vacancy" sign, til the old fashioned yellow telephone in the room, everything is so cool!!The hotel ,more like a kind of a trendy bed and breakfast,is located in an ancient house.WE booked the king room loft, and it was amazing!!!2 bathrooms,a lot of Windows, great decoration matching the 50`s with century XXI!!A... portsmouth is one of our favorite places in the whole wide world, but we saw less of it than usual this trip. all we wanted to do was hang out at hotel portsmouth. everything is perfect. i could sit and read a book in a deep leather chair in one of their comfy, cozy sitting rooms all day long. i... Perhaps the best testimonial I can think to give is that on a cold, rainy afternoon, my wife, 8-year-old son, and I thoroughly welcomed the opportunity to escape the nastiness and relax in our suite. Don't get me wrong—we thoroughly enjoyed Portsmouth and loved the centrality of the Inn to downtown—but we also so loved the Inn, itself, and were... More

We stayed at the Hotel Portsmouth (formerly the Sise Inn) this past weekend for the first time. It is on the edge of the downtown Portsmouth area. They emailed good directions (including landmarks) from I-95 so we had no trouble finding it despite never having been to Portsmouth before. We parked in the hotel's lot behind the building and didn't... More

I had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The hotel is modern New England to a tee- interesting architecture to the rooms, fieplaces, a historic feel to the beautiful common spaces and lobby/check in- but also luxe amenities including iPad in the rooms, filtered and filtered sparkling water, great modern showers, and smart minimalist decor. Cannot say enough good things about... More

Everyone who work there from the moment of checked in to the time we check out was wonderful and helpful. Within walking distance to downtown and the great shops and restaurants. I really did not want to do this because I would love to book it at anytime without waiting LOL, but I am sure everyone will find out how... More

A very pleasant stay in the hotel portsmouth. If you are looking for an original boutique hotel then look no further. Being a smaller family run hotel there are no big amenities and breakfast is limited but it made a nice change to stay somewhere so quaint whilst away on business.

I stayed here a few weeks ago with friends. We booked a king suite and it was perfect. It is easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and a park at the waterfront. The desk staff was knowledgeable and the room was immaculate. Thank you Hotel Portsmouth!

The Hotel Portsmouth is beautiful with rooms that were renovated last year. They kept the historic part of the hotel and updated the rooms with very tasteful decor. The beds were super comfortable. There is even an in-room ipad so you can find local restaurants, etc. Although for tips about Portsmouth, the front desk was incredibly helpful. The location is... More
