We really enjoyed our two night stay! The Hotel is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Our Queen Suite was large, very clean and comfortable. The Staff was nice and helpful, we were given a map upon arrival of the town and their suggestions of what to do and where to eat. Everything was right on the mark. The location is... More

Personal attention to every detail has gone into this property. The owners have knack of creating a different kind of retreat from the norm. Personalized services .. simple luxuries to be found throughout the property and a warm cozy inviting atmosphere from the moment you pull into the driveway. I brought my Single Speed 29er to explore the surrounding areas... More

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It's in a lovely old building, so it's very charming. The staff is wonderful, it has its own self-parking lot (no charge), and our room was very unique and comfortable. At first glance, we liked it. But the location, while good, was just on the edge of the historic downtown and harborside and... More

This hotel is walking distance to many restaurants, shops and activities. The staff are super friendly and helpful! Upon check in we were immediately offered a map of the area with suggestions for things to do. They also have an iPad in the room which offers staff recommendations for local dining and things to do. They have free onsite parking,... More

Stayed in the penthouse for a week and it was awesome. There is a private room for adults and great bunk beds for the kids. Nice amenities, lite breakfast, sitting rooms. Very homey feeling. It was easy to get around and catch up with family staying in nearby Rye and to head across the river to Maine. Really enjoyed spending... More

This place was great. The staff, room, and amenities were wonderful. Everything looked like it had been updated recently and each room comes with an iPad that the staff fills with recommendations for ilunch, dinner, drinks, attractions, etc. The staff themselves were great as well. Not in the heart of town but, everything in Portsmouth is less than 4 blocks... More

Decided to make a last minute stop in Portsmouth on our way home to NJ and found Hotel Portsmouth on Trip Advisor. Exceeded our expectations. Quiet, clean, large, beautiful room, great location to town, convenient parking and the staff was so friendly and helpful! We will definitely go back and have and will continue to recommend to others!

My wife and I were heading to NYC for my birthday and decided to stop in Kittery for some outlet shopping along the way. We took a bit of a chance on the Hotel Portsmouth since it was just opening but it paid off. They were still finishing off construction but it was all very tastefully renovated in a nice... More

We loved our stay at Hotel Portsmouth. The location was great because we were off the busy roads, but within 5-10 min walking distance to the harbour, the waterfront park, downtown shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff was accomodating and friendly, esp. Dana. We felt like family! The continental breakfast was a bit sparse, but we knew that by reading... More

We stayed here for one night in August. Unfortunately we got in pretty late and left the next morning so we didn't get to experience a lot of Portsmouth and it seemed like a really nice little town. The hotel was very comfortable and we appreciated the breakfast in the morning. Saved us a bit of time and money. The... More
