I don't know how a place could be much better. This is a true gem! An historic Victorian shipbuilder's mansion built in the 1880's, it has the look and feel of a classic New England B&B. But, the renovations have made this a marvel of high end, updated, top notch amenities that take this several steps above a B&B. From... More

We just spend a weekend in Portland, Maine and on our way home, stopped in Portsmouth, New Hampshire for a day visit and overnight stay. We stayed at the Hotel Portsmouth and it was such a wonderful experience. The outside of the hotel looks like a lovely New England home. Inside, the rooms are meticulous, newly renovated, charming and welcoming.... More

Wonderful hotel! More of an Inn than a hotel. Staff was amazing! Room was perfect, very clean. My husband and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend this for couples or girls weekend. Close to downtown Portsmouth.

Everything was perfectly top-notch. The room was spotless, extremely comfortable. The continental breakfast was full of healthy choices, plenty of homemade goodies and much better than other continental breakfasts we've had. Staff was friendly and gracious.

First time staying in a Portsmouth hotel, loved it here. Great style in every room. Very clean (enough that we were comfortable walking between rooms barefoot). Nice complementary products. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great for a continental - good coffee and delicious baked goods.

On a rare night to ourselves, my wife and I spent a Friday night at the Hotel Portsmouth. We arrived around 4pm to check in and had no trouble finding a space in the amply sized free parking lot behind the building. Check-in was a breeze and within minutes we found ourselves in Room 201, at the end of the... More

The split level room was lovely but not without issues. Noise from other rooms does carry. Also there is noise and scratching from wildlife in the eaves and it is unsettling. There are no outside provisions for smokers and management insist that one cannot even smoke in the car park at the back of building which results in any smokers... More

We enjoyed 2 nights at this thoughtfully designed boutique hotel that's just a five minute walk to the waterfront and all its shops and restaurants. Free off street parking. Cute breakfast room where you can make toast and cereal in the morning. Our room was beautifully clean, well decorated, with a huge tiled shower. Also an iPad was provided with... More

I loved this hotel, our room was stylish and attractive, a small shower room with lovely toiletries, very comfortable bed. The other downstairs living areas were very nicely decorated although we didnt get to spend much time in them. Breakfast was great, i had a peach scone and some gluten free granola, they also offered almond milk which i thought... More

The friendliest staff whom I have encountered while staying in hotels within 28 countries over six continents!!! The size and furnishings in both the room and bathroom are similar to what you will find in a three star Parisian hotel. Unfortunately, the price is similar as well. Be advised that a moderately priced American motel room is more spacious and... More
