The updating they did to the building was very impressive. We absolutely loved the Ale House Inn and would recommend it highly. We were highly impressed with all aspects of the inn and we look forward to staying again for our next weekend getaway.

You will enjoy this unique inn. Tiny and unusual. The decor is unique and well done. The staff is super friendly and full of helpful advice and restaurant tips. You'll love the bed and nicely done bathroom.

This very small hotel boasts a terrific location within walking distance from everything in downtown Portsmouth. Though the rooms are small, they are clean and very functional with a high-tech touch. Parking is difficult in the area, but if you're willing to walk a bit, it's not a problem.

Having vacationed in Vermont for a week we needed to find some place to stay that was in reasonable driving distance to the Boston airport. We chose the Ale House Inn because of the pictures and reviews. The Ale House is very welcoming with a very helpful staff and modern vibe. Although the rooms are small they are very well... More

We stayed at the Ale House Inn last December, and it was such a integral part of an enjoyable Portsmouth experience that we're returning this year with no hesitation as to where we will stay. The welcome beer and friendly, helpful staff is there to greet you upon your arrival, and the common area is a cozy and comfortable place... More

I hesitate to review small hotels we love as they may not have rooms available when we need them, but it's only fair to give praise when it's due. Loved this funky little hotel - charming décor, friendly staff (which are not always present but it didn't bother us), quiet, off the beaten path yet within walking distance of everywhere... More

This is a really beautiful inn - that occupies a floor in an old brewery warehouse - in a lovely Portsmouth location. Central, but quiet with free parking over the road. The room was really well decorated and the lobby area is stunning. We really liked having complimentary beers and all the service was friendly and professional. It's not especially... More

We LOVED our stay here! The manager and assistant manager were so attentive and helpful, and the hotel was perfect for what we needed. I would maybe not recommend bringing children as it definitely has more of an adult feel. It's right in downtown Portsmouth and walking distance to almost everything. We did a Gundalow river boat tour, went to... More

We loved our stay here. The location was perfect, near everything but quiet. There was free parking available across the street. The hotel provided an IPad to each customer to help find things to do. The staff provided complimentary beer, which we cooled in our in-room fridge. Very nice stay. We also had a Keurig!
