This was a surprise. I am a former resident of Portsmouth and always knew it was there, on the traffic circle, and picked it based on price. It is part of the Choice Hotels group, so that was a plus as I got points for my stay. I felt that it was excellent all around. Great convenient location. Nice room... More

I stayed in two different king bed rooms. Both were clean and one had a small kitchen. The motel is not fancy, but clean, affordable and easy to access, Similar to the older drive-up motels of the past.

I viewed this hotel on line and it looked like a quaint New England Colonial Inn. When I got there was met by a very courteous receptionist. I realized this property had been at same location for a over 40 years off the circle. the lobby was quite nice. I booked on line in advance via Comfort Inn website. I... More

We were pleasantly surprised. Port Inn was lovely and well cared for. Just a delight. Rooms were just fine clean and spacious. The staff very pleasant helpful. Our stay included a tasty and generous breakfast. There even was dog walking area. I do wish it was enclosed so I could let my dog off leash for a little exercise.

I highly recommend The Port Inn. The staff was very hospitable and friendly. They are very accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean. It was quiet even though it was a busy location along Rte. 1. It's close to downtown and also easy to get to the coast. We will be going back, perhaps often.

Earlier reviewer said "thoughtfully remodeled." Agreed -- and that thoughtfulness has been applied throughout. Everything done well, from room to breakfast, in spite of constraints imposed by space footprints. Excellent value without being cheap. Very glad Trip Advisor brought me here; would def stay again.

This hotel was a real treat to stay at. They had a two-night minimum requirement, but that wasn't a problem for us. When we made reservations online, we requested a quiet room. When we checked in, they voluntarily upgraded us to a suite at no extra charge to meet our request for a quiet room. The breakfast included deluxe muffins,... More

Stayed here in February2014. Travelled through a winter blizzard to reach this destination. Was very easy to find, right off the " round-a-bout ". Clean, well maintained. Friendly staff greeted me at the check-in desk. They were very helpful in giving directions to shopping areas and places to eat.

This a very wonderful stay. From booking at last minute to checking out. I would highly recommend this hotel. The room was very clean. The breakfast was delicious. I will recommend this hotel to friends and family who travel to this area for a stay. Wish we had one of these hotels nearby.
