We just love JJ, it's a great location with just a great mix of walkable activities and short drives to hiking, waterfalls and even classic visits to North Conway. Bring floating devices for a lazy "float" in the swift river, check out the Boulder loop trail and champenney falls hikes and definitely take a drive to Diana's Bath just west... More

Great campground for tenters and boon dockers. Not a lot of amenities, but that is OK. Spots are large and well kept, washrooms are dated and smell a little, but that is camping. Large party next to us got a little loud one night, they gone! Great camp hosts. No fooling around. Located central to a lot of things to... More

We took a drive up the Kanc with our class-A and decided to overnight at Jigger Johnson's. It was pouring when we arrived and we decided to park our rig and then head to the kiosk to put money in the envelope. We had just finished backing in when there came a pounding at the door. The ranger was there... More

Beautiful Campground about 15 miles up the Kanc. Gary Manages the park and is a great guy whom runs a tight ship with his crew. This is a campground to get out into nature not a place for bingo, hayrides or games of Marco Polo. A beautiful mountainous property at about 1,000 feet of elevation. Great swimming holes and nice... I cannot say enough about my outstanding experience at this campground ! I am new to camping (3rd time) and after this past August at Jigger Johnson's - I am HOOKED ! The staff was exceptionally helpful (& patient) with my frequent & innumerable inquiries. Great suggestions for hiking, biking, & how-to's etc. . . (Thank-you Gary) Most importantly, the... More

After camping for two nights at a commercial campground in North Conway, we did two nights at Jigger Johnson in the White Mountain National Forest. It is off the Kancamagus Highway, just 15 miles or so from Conway. We have a 19' travel trailer and a moderate sized SUV, and the sites accommodated both vehicles easily. Sites are private, restrooms... More

The campground is clean, showers were below average clean and 2.50 for :06. The campground host needs to be friendlier especially since he's gouging campers at 7.00 for a Sm. bundle of fire wood. We would go back even though the host was not friendly. The area has some of the best trails in the NorthEast. I also believe that... More

Great campground on the Kancamagus highway! Twelve miles up from conway, convenient to everything. Feels like you are isolated in the woods, but you can still venture into town to be greeted by an array of food, entertainment, and utility options. Arrive early to get a site on the weekends - fills up quickly, and we could see why. The... More

We chanced upon Jigger Johnson last week when we couldn't get our RV across the covered bridge to the Covered Bridge Campsite (though there is an alternative route for tall vehicles). What a find though - it's idyllic in location, with tall aromatic pines, generous plots and privacy. A short walk along a track takes you to a shallow, slow... More

This was our first time camping in white mountain national forest. Jigger Johnson fitted our search as it has flush toilets and shower (metered $2.50) which helps us with our kids from 4-7 yrs old. We stayed here for a 5 days. Gary the host and his staff is very welcoming and friendly. We observed some issue with flush toilet... More
