Beacon vacation a memory from childhood, then with my kids, now with grandchild. When I called to reserve and said we were 3rd generation I was told nothing much has changed. So true. Meaning nothing has been updated or repaired. Front door of our room only locks with chain (broken knob lock). Room door opening to indoor pool area stuck... More

I really looked forward to this trip as I had heard about the Beacon Resort for years. But we never stayed there. The employees at the resort were all very nice and helpful. But honestly the place was very dirty. Area's were not cleaned the three days we were there. The rugs were just plain dirty. Dust everywhere. I enjoy... More

We went up last weekend and were very disapointed. Our room was in the west wing.Building was pretty run down.It was so musty smelling in the hall. The room was filthy. We came with our 2 young children. The room smelled very musty!!I had to push the bed against the wall so my 3 yr old would not fall off bed. There were crumbs and... Took my grandchildren to NH for a few days. Thought a cottage would be a good fit for us. We arrived early and we able to check I. An hour before checking which was nice. We were even given discounted tickets to Clark's Trading Post. The description of the room was a quaint cottage with a porch over looking the... More

Our family has been coming here for years, and we still enjoy visiting. We especially love the area; just south of Franconia Notch parkway with lots of great hiking trails and the Pemigewasset River nearby. The hotel has an outdoor pool and an indoor pool with a good-sized jacuzzi near it. We tend to stay in the rooms facing the... More

We arrived around 1 and checkin was at 2. They were gracious and accommodating to let us check in and gave us rooms that were connecting, there were 9 of us. The rooms are in need of some updating and better cleaning but overall we really didn't spend much time in the room. The pools were very clean indoor and... More

I have been visiting the Beacon since I was a kid. I am 38 years old and have enjoyed going back with my children and my parents for a nostalgic stay. My most recent stay was cut short due to a work related commitment and in the rush of leaving, I left my entire computer bag in my room. I... More

We went over the recent Holiday. We had a halfoffnh.com coupon.Even at that,we wereleft with the feeling that we over paid.We checked in just before 3pm.We were told where to park.We went in and had to drag the luggage down a couple hallways and through the slippery pool area.Guess what. There was a chain on the inside of the door.Initially,we thought, they gave... I have been staying at the Beacon for over 20 years. Dollar for dollar, it is the best value in the White Mountains. The pool/Jacuzzi area is very accommodating and the entertainment hall is enormous. I would recommend the meal plan, as the food is very good. The the Beacon is not is the Ritz any means; if you are... More

I stayed at The Beacon Resort because I got a groupon and wanted to take the kids swimming during school vacation. The room was very old with a queen and double bed. The bathroom was disgusting. The tv was nice and the wifi worked well. The indoor pool was nice, but the hot tub was pretty cold. The game room... More
