A friend & I visited the Jaffrey/Peterborough area this past weekend. At the suggestion of a college professor, we stayed at the Benjamin Prescott Inn. Upon our arrival, the innkeepers, Sue & Charlie Lyle, were delightful & very accommodating to insure our stay was comfortable. This is a Colonial Inn, with the décor reflective of that period. The Inn is... more

Though my husband and I are avid, enthusiastic travelers, this is the first time I have been moved to write a critical accommodations review. I hope this is helpful. We were looking for a sweet, modest place to spend the evening in Jaffrey, NH- clearly not fancy, but worth the value for the $110/a night. Jaffrey is not a major... more

We were saddened to read our guest's assessment of our hospitality. Although I must point out some inaccuracies, i.e. we would never consider serving Tang, bake fresh muffins every morning and served fresh pomegranate that morning. However, I do want to advise our guests that we have taken the comments about the shower room seriously. As such, we have begun...

Wonderful, charming, friendly owners. Charlie and Sue were very helpful. When we arrived Charlie asked if we had dinner plans, we said no that we would just look around. He offered to recommend a resturant and to book reservations for us. It too was wonderful. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend. more

This is a lovely inn in a lovely town that has some good restaurants and a wonderful antique store. The innkeepers were warm but not annoyingly present. They suggested some local restaurants and made the dinner reservation for us. Our room was cozy and clean and the grounds are beatutiful. We had a private bath but the separate shower was... more

This was the highlight of the short trip around New England that my wife and I took in early November. There is a parking lot at the end of the driveway, which is very convenient. Entering the residence, we were met with a warmly decorated, very invited athmosphere. We arrived in the evening, after dark, and there was hot cider... more

This place is wonderful and serene. The innkeepers Sue and Charlie are very pleasant and always smiling. They made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was nice and served in a sunny room. The grounds of the place are beautiful and are next to an old barn with two lovely horses. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Check... more

My husband and I stayed here in May for a wedding at the nearby Cathedral of the Pines. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast good, but what really made our stay pleasant were the wonderful inn keepers. Susan and Charlie were very kind and helpful, and fun to talk to! However, if you do stay here, I do not... more

We stayed at the Benjamin Prescott Inn for one night in September 2004. The Inn is about 10 minutes drive from Jaffrey, in a peaceful location. We stayed in Nabbys Nook, a small and cosy room with adequate ensuite facilities. Alice the innkeeper was quiet, but polite and helpful and served up a delicious breakfast for us! We would consider... more
