My husband and I were in Jaffrey for the night and needed a place to stay, I called the Benjamin Prescott Inn and spoke with Ruth the owner, who was very accommodating and got us a reservation. When we arrived in the evening it was raining and Ruth was waiting right at the door for us to welcome us! She... More

If you want to experience old fashioned hospitality and revel in the charm of days gone by, this is the place you want to visit. My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend as we took some time off to climb Mount Monadnock and enjoy some of the area's antique stores and dining spots. Hosts Ruth and Jim... More

My wife and i stayed here for a night and it was Amazing..we stayed in the Oliver room and it felt like a little hideaway room with a large king sized bed. The inn staff was very kind and breakfast in the morning was fantastic. The pumpkin muffins were the best i have ever had. We took a walk in... More

The owners Ruth and Jim, really have a knack for making you feel welcome, my family stayed there over Labor day weekend and had a very good experience. The Inn is near the town of Jaffrey and the Monadnock region with plenty to do , good local restaurants, especially in Peterborough.

My boyfriend and I rented the "Colonel Prescott Room" for a weekend stay for a friend's wedding. The room is large and decorated in red in a country-wealthy Colonial style. All the fixtures are modern. The surroundings are very quiet; it was a pleasant escape from city noise. Cell phone reception and the hotel wireless are spotty, but the host... More

Sharon, Thanks so much for your kind feedback and review, Ruth and I are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry to hear about your internet and cell phone reception issues. We upgraded the router again to try to improve the reception and have added two network extenders to improve the wireless reception through out the inn. We... More

On the positive side, the inn's exterior as well as the rooms are very attractively decorated. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast they provide is very hearty. However, for the amount charged, we definitely felt the amenities were lacking. Most importantly, the bedding (mattress and pillows) were very uncomfortable. Also, there was no daily maid service... We regret that your stay was less than you had hoped for and do sincerely hope that you will visit us again. In an effort to communicate our goals to future guests, I do want to respond to a couple of comments. 1) I definately agree that a room at a B&B without housekeeping would not be up to par.... More

An excellent NH bed and breakfast in an ideal setting of southwestern NH. Host and hostess are a warm and friendly couple who are willing to engage in conversation and offer suggestions for making your visit a pleasant one. Rooms are a good size, nicely furnished/decorated, and most have private baths. Breakfast is a real delight and special dietary needs... More

This is my 4th time returning to the home I lived in as a teen and it just gets better. Last year the owners thought they had the Inn sold but the deal fell through at the last moment through no fault of theirs. They have come back with new enthusiasm and the same quality service . This year they... More

The Benjamin Prescott was an unexpectedly terrific stay in Jaffrey (literally, they took us in after receiving our phone call around 10 p.m. looking for any B&B nearby to stay for the night- more than likely with a bit of desperation in our voices) and Charlie took us in without hesitation, meeting us at our car to walk us in... The curb appeal was lovely; we were cheerfully greeted at the door by the owner/husband; the common rooms were comfortably sized but still cozy and furnished very nicely; the breakfast routine was explained; our room, with adjoining bath, was also furnished very comfortably. My girlfriend and I were there for two nights to attend a friends wedding. Both breakfasts were... More

Thank you for taking the time and writing your comments; we appreciate them very much. We agree and think the Monadnock area is pretty terrific too; especially the 400 acre rolling farmland next door. Hope to see you again some day. More
