Very disappointed with the entire stay. The Manor is off the beaten path, the rooms are very pricey, it is more like a hotel than a B&B, it is across from the lake and you cannot access the water as it is all private. Nothing is close by. The rooms themselves are nice but the photos on the website are... more

As the focal point of a 60th Birthday celebration this hotel proved an enormous disappointment. From the website it seemed to promise all we were looking for 3 nights of luxury, good food and some much needed peace and quiet. It couldn't have more different. On arrival the hotel seemed tired and in need of refurbishment, our room dark and... more

This was our second stay at the Manor and will be our last. We had a package that included breakfast and one dinner. Dinner was quite stuffy - the owner (Maryellen?) seated us, and her manner was not warm or friendly - she has an air of superiority about her, which I found rude. The waitress was equally unfriendly and... more

What a disappointment - the place is in need of repair - shower faucets are worn and leaky - fireplace smoked up the room - bed so soft you fall through it. Old noisy room air conditioner. Menus look good on paper but food is not up to par. Service aloof and indifferent. Surcharges everywhere!! We were looking for a... more

My husband and I just enjoyed 3 beautiful days at the Manor on Golden Pond. The setting is beautiful with gorgeous views, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, lovely rooms with all the trimmings and fabulous food! A perfect place to unwind and enjoy life - we will definitely be back! more

I've stayed at the "Manor" on Golden Pond for several years now. The stuffy service and outlandish prices were always worth the hassle for one reason: Squam Lake. I checked in this year ready to take a quick dip in the lake before dinner. Imagine my surprise when I learned that the lake access has now been restricted! I (foolishly)... more

We live nearby and looked forward to dining at the Manor Restaurant. We had a gift certificate for $100 but dinner for 2 without any wine or alcoholic beverages came to $134. A generous gratuity was prefigured into the bill. The property was pleasant but we were seated next to a window with a view of a hedge and a... more

This Inn should be called the Manor down the hill and across the road from the lake. We booked a lake view room for $345 a night. The room was tiny with lots of mirrors to try to make it seem bigger, the bathroom was tiny, and the room smelled of smoke. There were two flies on the welcome to... more

The drive from Maine to Holderness is absolutely breathtaking. The town of Holderness is truly a sweet place to visit. The hotel had great food and a homey atmosphere but I agree with the other review that it was somewhat disappointing that it was not on the lake. I took a walk and ended up on the shoulder of a... more

We stayed for two nights, which gave us enought time to experience the property. The main building is charming; it features two dining rooms, a bar, a library and a lounge/sitting area. We ate at the Manor on the first night of our stay. The restaurant's food was very good and so was the wine list. Our guest room was... more
