We live nearby and looked forward to dining at the Manor Restaurant. We had a gift certificate for $100 but dinner for 2 without any wine or alcoholic beverages came to $134. A generous gratuity was prefigured into the bill. The property was pleasant but we were seated next to a window with a view of a hedge and a... more

This Inn should be called the Manor down the hill and across the road from the lake. We booked a lake view room for $345 a night. The room was tiny with lots of mirrors to try to make it seem bigger, the bathroom was tiny, and the room smelled of smoke. There were two flies on the welcome to... more

The drive from Maine to Holderness is absolutely breathtaking. The town of Holderness is truly a sweet place to visit. The hotel had great food and a homey atmosphere but I agree with the other review that it was somewhat disappointing that it was not on the lake. I took a walk and ended up on the shoulder of a... more

We stayed for two nights, which gave us enought time to experience the property. The main building is charming; it features two dining rooms, a bar, a library and a lounge/sitting area. We ate at the Manor on the first night of our stay. The restaurant's food was very good and so was the wine list. Our guest room was... more

We stayed two nights in a very nice room (Buckingham) and during these days we had a perfect holiday. Friendly staff, good food and an excellent spa. The private beach at Squam Lake is a gem for quiet reading, swimming or canoeing. The 'Manor' has a good atmosphere and you feel relaxed. A nice thing is that the rooms are... more

We stayed at the manor 4 years ago and again this month. The entire staff was very pleasant and was willing to do anything to make our stay more pleasant. When you asked for anything they were there and willing to serve. Our stay was perfect and we will return every year. They took fantastic care of you and you... more

We were warmly welcomed and settled in easily to our comfortable accomodations for a pricey New Year's Eve package (one night at $700)at the Manor on Golden Pond. Generally the staff was helpful. But, our experience in the dining room, which is touted by the inn as a gourmet restaurant, was very disappointing. First off, we were not served the... more

My wife and I have come to the Manor for two years. This year, we brought two other couples to celebrate the New Year. The Manor was in all of its glory. Roaring fire places, European staff, excellent service and the most exquisite attention to detail of any place we have ever stayed (five star or otherwise). All this with... more

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Buckingham Room here and, at the end of October, almost had the entire hotel to ourselves. I cannot think of a single fault worth mentioning and I'm amazed at some of the negative reviews here. We found the staff both courteous and friendly. The food was great (we had both supper and breakfast... more

it was almost perfect--the room (Churchill) was lovely--the view of the lake, wood-burning fireplace , jacuzzi tub with candles, bath salts and the large thick towels...the dinner (tastings menu) and wine were delicious--afternoon tea and morning coffee with to go cups...attention to most details by the owners and yet...NOT EVEN EYE CONTACT! NO SMILE OR GREETING "we are glad you... more
