Staying at the Hanover Inn at Dartmouth College was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend the Inn to anyone visiting the Upper Valley. The location is ideal - you can go to the Hopkins Center or the Hood Museum without going outside of the Inn, and the Upper Valley itself affords multiple activities for families and outdoors types. The... more

Thought I got a great deal when I called on busy weekend and was able to get a room with kingsize bed for the night at half price. The occupants had checked out a day early. Hotel location is great, staff very nice, room average(very small bath that had been done by outfit like Bathfitters) but during middle of night... more

The Hanover Inn in Hanover, NH, is a charming older property with beautiful furniture and a very "New England" feel. This wasn't the most comfortable place I've ever stayed, and if you are used to the typical chain with modern furniture and amenities, you may not be a big fan of this property. However, if you aren't concerned about every... more

We stayed here for one night last week while looking at Dartmouth College for our daughter. We did not pre book and walked into the hotel at 4:00 pm and asked for the Dartmouth rate. We got a room with two queen beds for $200 a night plus $15 for parking. I found this to be better than the rate... more

This hotel is quite over-rated and far over-priced. I would stay there again, but only because of the location. The management knows that they have a captive audience and they do not care about the quality of the guest's stay. If you can afford to throw away money, I recommend the hotel. If you want value for your dollar, you... more

Confession: my husband and I have been to the Inn many times; the most recent being in the summer of 2007. We've never been disappointed and it's about time I give it the review it deserves. A few minutes on the Hanover Inn's website (www.hanoverinn.com) gives a hint of what awaits. What you don't see is the big welcoming lobby... more

Big disappointment. My wife and I were looking for a nice romantic trip in the Upper Valley but instead got stuck at this over-rated over-priced inn. There was a loud DJ'ed party held in the lobby that went on for hours Friday night and was easily heard in our room. Our entire floor smelled of the fish dinner that was... more

I have stayed here multiple times over the past few years. Room types are quite variable, from mildly disappointing (sink separate from toilet and shower, making dressing in the morning more hassle than necessary when traveling with child of the opposite sex) to very, very nice. During certain times (parent weekends, homecoming, etc.), you need to book literally a year... more

Well-situated for visits to Dartmouth, the Hanover Inn is a mix of pluses and minuses. While the desk clerk promised a "lovely" view, the smallish room looked out on the gravel-covered roof the hotel's portico. Nicely furnished, clean rooms with traditional style furniture and high quality bathroom amenities. While the phones provided cutting edge free high speed internet service (also... more

Have stayed at the Inn several times over the years, most recently this May. Fabulous location right on the Green at Dartmouth College in downtown Hanover. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Breakfast in the Daniel Webster Room was delicious. We have enjoyed "Zins" for dinner in the past, which has reasonable... more
