The HANCOCK INN is the oldest working INN in NH and deserves our top rating for accommodations including our "doggie" stay. The INN hosts and huge open area where are two dogs were allowed to roam free-they loved it! Our rooms were wonderful, the drinks and the food also a delight. The little Town of Hancock was a step back... More

The menu divides pricing by a 'half' portion meal or a 'full' portion meal. I had the 'full' portion chicken entree and found it was not accompanied by anything more than a few sprigs of greens (yes, a few) and a delicious sauce; nothing more. Very disappointed. Would not return.

Thank you for the review. It's disappointing to know that you were unhappy with the portion size of your dinner. Usually, the feedback we get is that our portion sizes are too large! This is the reason, in fact, that we introduced half plate sizes for our seasonal menu entrees earlier this spring. The current chicken dish on the seasonal... More

My wife and I have stayed at the Hancock Inn a number of times over the past few years. (Full disclosure: Jarvis and Marcia were friends of ours when they lived in the Boston area). We usually stay in the fall, but this time we just dropped in to celebrate our birthdays in a relaxed setting. We always look forward... More

We stayed three nights at the Hancock Inn and the only regret is that we didn't stay longer. What a truly great place with a genuinely wonderful and always very helpful service. Felt at home the minute we walked through the door. The owners, Marcia and Jarvis, were wonderful and we can't wait to return to the Hancock Inn. To... More

Thank you both very much. We felt compelled to print a copy of your review and post it in the kitchen for the benefit of "everybody at the inn." Marcia and I appreciate the personal acknowledgements when they occur, but it is, really, "everybody at the inn." So, thanks for carving out some recognition for the team. Please come back... More

The Hancock Inn is located in the tiny, quiet, treasured and historic town of Hancock. The Inn is charming, while also being spacious, compared to many ofther "inns". There is a variety of rooms from which to choose, each decorated in tasteful, period style, and the grounds offer lovely, spacious gardens as well as a croquet pitch. An interesting history... More

Thank you for the review! History is very important to us at the Inn and in the town and throughout the Monadnock region and we're grateful you shared that sense in your review. We're also very glad you mentioned croquet! Our annual croquet tournament launched this weekend with 22 teams participating! Did you play while you were here? Next time!... More

Located in a very small rural town -- don't expect good cell coverage -- is a beautiful inn that once was a stage coach stop. Lots of early American furniture, murals on the walls, etc. it transports you back to the 18th century. The innkeepers are extremely welcoming. The breakfast was terrific -- choices plus sides, plus juice, coffee, homemade... More

Thank you very much for your review and for pointing out two noticeable (and notable) aspects of a visit to the Inn: 1) the cell coverage is not good here, which is why we often advise travelers not to rely on their telephone for GPS when driving to stay with us; and, yes, 2) Paul Revere's bell #236 rings on... Family and friends have enjoyed the Hancock Inn over 4 decades. Improvements and amenities keep up with changing times -- while the hospitality, great food and comfortable accommodations remain consistent pleasures.

Thank you, Bonnie. Perhaps you won't mind if it is explained to people - because it's interesting - that we met during Hurricane Irene, which blew through New England about a month after we purchased the Inn. You sought refuge here from your family's house (of four decades) during the storm and the three of us had dinner by candlelight... More

This was our first time staying at the Hancock Inn and our first experience at a B&B and we absolutely loved it. The cleanliness rivalled any 5 star accomodations we stayed at. The food was excellent for dinner as well as breakfast.

We took a short get away from the city (Manchester)! We spent two nights at the Hancock Inn. The beds were very comfortable; the room great; the innkeepers pleasant and accommodating. The Inn's restaurant was superb, the dishes unique and delectable (best crab cakes we ever had). We didn't avail ourselves of their breakfast because we headed out at 6:30... More

Early morning on the water is, of course, an ideal time to experience the virtues of kayaking the fresh water environs of the Monadnock Region. I'm sure the fish don't mind if you spill some muffin over the sides, either. Thank you for such a nice review. We will look forward to your return! Best, Jarvis. More
