Wow! This is the dream location if you have ever dreamed about what a quinticental B&B of New England is like. Not only are the owners also the innkeepers and are on site 24-7....but you are also partaking of food that is 5 star! I am a foodie! I got to eat the most mouth watering venison.. (farm raised) of... More

I recently traveled with my pug dog Prudence to this wonderful bed and breakfast in New Hampshire. The hosts, Marcia and Jarvis, could not have been more welcoming. There is a fenced in back yard behind the Hancock Inn, complete with a resident golden retriever, so my dog was in seventh heaven! My pug loved running around with the golden!... More

Prudence was a model guest, as most of our four legged guests have been over the years. She might find the yard a little less hospitable right now given the 2.5 feet of snow, but there is no doubting her indomitable spirit. She is welcome back any time (and you with her!) Thank you very much for the nice review.... More

Stayed overnight in the most charming Washington Room. The place drips with historical charm, but yet the bathroom is all 2000! The hosts were charming, the breakfast was incredible, there was an old Peterborough piano in the dining room which they let me play! And their dog Potter has the perfect personality for an inn keeper's dog. Couldn't ask for... More

Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience here at The Hancock Inn. The Washington Room is a delightful one with the window seat overlooking the backyard. We can't thank you enough for playing our piano and adding your own touch to the inn - moments like that are extra special! More

Beautiful and historic inn. Very authentic, great condition and beautiful furnishings in the rooms. Breakfast / lunch room has wonderful views and the food is excellent (some traditional dishes to choose from). Dining room is beautiful and warm. Food prices are very reasonable and the room rates are a great value. I just spent Thanksgiving there and had the best... More

There are reasons that we stay at B&Bs and small inns over regular hotels, given the choice, and the Hancock Inn has all of them. Attentive, personal service, incredible history and ambiance, wonderfully diverse selection of rooms, and wonderful food. We stayed in the John Hancock suite and were suitable pampered by it's amenities, from the special tub to the... More

Thank you so much for your comments, and we're glad your visit coincided with the violin concert down the street. One of the great things about winter in this part of New England is that seasons renew for many of the performing arts groups. It helps pass the time indoors! Please come again soon! Jarvis. More

We returned to the Inn this past weekend for our annual "get away from it all before the holiday rush". We once again had the most wonderful weekend. The inn was beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Norway Plain room which was just lovely. We certainly enjoyed the fireplace and the whirlpool tub. The inn offers a wonderful set of... More

We love the fact that you can savor doing nothing, particularly taking into account the picture you use on your Trip Advisor reviews that shows you picking your way through some gnarly white water! I stayed at the Inn for business for 1 night, and although I had never previously stayed at an Inn or B & B type place, I was not disappointed. The innkeepers and all of the staff were beyond accommodating and friendly, and the Inn is beautifully decorated and very, very clean. There is a full bar and restaurant, and... More

I needed a place to stay in a hurry, and as luck would have it, there was a vacancy. After having practically begged them for a room I felt idiotic when they smoothly quoted me a price that really hurt. The locale and service are fabulous, as is the decor, but the room is incredibly tiny, there is no food... More

Dear Alizya, We hope you'll come back again when there is more time to consider options connected to your stay and when we aren't in the thick of a major holiday. As it was, you arrived at our door before 10:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning after feeling compelled to vacate the Inn you had been staying. Our recollection is that... More

Dear Zealandgirl, Thank you for such as nice review. We absolutely LOVE the fact you have set a goal to explore the "92 FireTowers" in New Hampshire, which we hope you turn into a book and mail to us (consider this an advance order for several copies) for the benefit of future guests!
