My family has been vacationing at Ames Farm since I was a little girl. The memories I made were priceless. We now go back with my husband and three boys. As soon as you step into your cabin and look out at the amazing view of the lake and mountains you will never want to leave. It is very difficult... More

My family used to go there every summer and experienced cabins on both sides of the dock. It was very handy to put the boat in and have your own dock and be able to enjoy the beauty of the lake and all the fishing and watersports. However, the owners ruined it forever for us and almost ruined ever vacationing... More

Ames Farm Inn is definitely not fancy but the cabins provide a wonderful opportunity to unplug and relax. The cabins have the basics - beds, tables, stove top, microwave, frig....not much else you need for a great family vacation. You fall asleep to the sound of the water and wake up to amazing sunrises. Don't expect much except for a... More

I live nearby so I've never stayed in their lakefront cabins, but I do like to stop in at their breakfast and lunch restaurant on occasion during the summer. They are only open during the summer season so if you want to go, plan accordingly. This used to be a stop on the old Lakeshore Railroad that ran by during... More

What a nightmare in the "Annex". The building is on a main road with vehicles whizzing by day and night. The vehicles were so close and going so fast that it was actually scary. We were not able to enjoy the quant-looking front porch because of the traffic noise. Mold in the bathroom shower/tub was disgusting. The kitchen sink leaked... More

We were driving around Lake Winnipesaukee looking for a spot for breakfast and pulled into the Ames Farm Inn. They have a lovely restaurant facing the lake. It seems the whole family works in the dining room and the service was fantastic. The food was delicious and we wished we'd stayed at the Inn as well. It's a great place... More

Perhaps the main building or cabins are nice, but the "annex" buildings across the street are a different story. They appear to be cheap welfare type apartments...basically 4 to a building. Someone we spoke to said people live there full time...so I guess when they have vacancies they try and rent them out to unsuspecting guests. Neither the front door... More

Our family has been coming to Ames for 60+ years. We never tire of the slow pace, the lush green pasture, the sounds of the waves flowing to the shore in front of our cabin. We always meet families who are pinching themselves to make sure where they are is truly real in today's life ' in seconds' world. The... More

We stayed in an "Annex" building room, located directly across the road from the lake. It was a large room upstairs with a double bed, cute furnishings and air conditioning. It was on the back of the building so no view of the lake but less road noise. It all seemed very clean. It was the only room with a... More

They made it fun to be there, gave us advice on things to do and the food was wholesome and delicious. We are deffinietely going back to the... More
