My husband and I went mid-week and the trails were absolutely beautiful. It was so peaceful on the trails. It seemed like we had the whole place to ourselves even though there were other people around. We didn't stay at the inn, but everyone was very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be back!

We didn't stay at the Inn this time, but did want to rave about the cross-country ski trails! The Franconia trail system is a must for classic X-C ski lovers. The trails are relatively narrow, so you can't skate but you can diagonal stride with ease. The system really puts you out into the forest, and the feeling is unique... More

This is a beautiful place with all the charm and friendliness you'd expect, so I have visited numerous times. Plenty of hiking nearby, and other activitess not far. Staff has been very accommodating. Actually went one time over Thanksgiving with a woman who kept Kosher and they purchased all Kosher turkeys because it was easier than having two different kinds.Simply... More

This gracious old inn sits 5 minutes outside Franconia center, surrounded by fields and then mountains on both sides of the street. Visiting in January, we thoroughly enjoyed the large trail system for a morning hike in the woods. Others back at the inn were ice skating on the small rink behind the barn when we returned. The TV room... More

I'm part of a group of families who come here for a vacation every winter. By now it has come to feel like a second home. It's a beautiful drive and Franconia is a worthy destination. The Inn is a cozy place and the rooms are all charming. Every room seems to have a special feature. Ours had a reading... More

We arrived Thursday just before Columbus weekend, having booked two nights wayback in January. We found they only had us down for one night, were unapologetic even though it was their fault, and said we could either go from one room, to another for second night - no thank you, or they finally after a long, long time waiting around... We travelled to Franconia, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, to see leaves, and perhaps get in a late season golf game. The weather did not altogether cooperate for the golf, but the scenery was beautiful and the leaves still showing much color. Franconia Inn is a traditional inn on the edge of town, with a first-rate dining room... More

We were lucky to secure a one night Saturday night stay at the Franconia Inn and enjoyed the charm and tranquil setting of the property. Driving through Conway the next day we were glad we chose to stay in Franconia over the more commercialized Conway. Our room was comfortable and quiet at the front of the house. Yes, there was...
