comfortable hotel that provided the basic amenities. clean. adorable garden in the front. courteous service at the front desk. continental breakfast was as expected for the price range (muffins/bagels, cereal, oatmeal, fruits). would recommend this to those who are visiting in the franconia region.

Simple, family type motel. Clean rooms, but outside definitely needs attention. We were there in late winter. Parking lot was very icy. This place is listed as 3 star by hotwire. It is more like a 2. Free wifi, free "continental" breakfast. The man at the desk on check in was very nice.

We were in the Lincoln area to see the Ice Castles. We waited to the last moment to reserve hotel-we all know how hard travel was this past winter. Lincoln itself was very pricey for us non-skiers, took a shot here. Very pleasant experience that started with the gentleman that handled my telephone inquiry, and continued with the room itself.... Booked 3 nights for a mid-week ski trip. Franconia a good 'base' for places like Jay Peak, VT, Bretton Woods, NH and, of course, Cannon. Decided to try Hillwinds because of good TripAdvisor reviews, and was not disappointed. Very inexpensive (~ $60/night + tax), very clean, spacious rooms, with in-room coffee, fridge, microwave. Quaint location - across river on a... More

We stayed here for one night on our way to see the ice castles in Lincoln. The room was super clean, if a little dated in its decor. We had a queen room - it was comfortable for us as a family with an infant and a 3 year old, and it was priced right!

My girlfriend and I visited this motel in January. The location is really nice especially if you plan on hiking in the White Mtns or going to ski at Cannon Mountain (we did both). The rooms are cozy and warm. The staff is helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was well stocked but simple. The breakfast seriving area overlooks the... More

Three stars is good, not just average. The Hillwinds is clean, with good-sized rooms, a little basic but not in any uncomfortable way, and right on the edge of a wood so that you wake to clean pine smells. Good-natured proprietors. The breakfast is the standard motel buffet - the word basic springs to mind again - but the breakfast... More

I tried to go throught trip advisor but for some strange... More

The room is quite big for a motel. Big and firm bed. Microwave and fridge, both working (I used both). Owners are very friendly. The breakfast is a bit too plain. A little more variety would help a lot when you stay more than 1 night. WiFi is very weak.

For my first trip to New England to see the Fall leaves, I could not have chosen a more pleasant place to stay! Lovely setting in the valley, alongside the gently rushing river, with views of the White Mountains.... totally relaxing atmosphere.. but free wifi, generous breakfast, inviting lodge and wonderful management and service! I will definitely go back!
