We stayed this past weekend while attending a local wedding. The Hotel was very clean and comfortable with a friendly and competent staff. We had breakfast on Saturday morning which was very good and reasonably priced. The Inn is close to Exeter Center, and the March weather cooperated enough to allow us to tour the Downtown area. I heartily recommend... More

Puttyj_9, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you when the weather turns warmer. We are only 9 miles straight shot on a beautiful scenic (slightly winding) New England road, from the coastline and Hampton beach. Or perhaps in the Fall when the leaves turn a beautiful hue of red, orange, yellow and golden brown.... More

We just stayed this past weekend for a wedding that took place at the Inn. The whole Inn was gorgeous. It is clear that it had been recently renovated, and it was modern and comfortable. The wedding reception took place downstairs with fantastic food, dancing and fun. When we returned to our room on the 2nd floor, we could no... More

EllyAnneB, Thank you for your kind comments. When we renovated the property we sought to create an intimate, warm and casually sophisticated environment. To uphold a tradition of hospitality long vanished from today’s impersonal, cookie-cutter, chain hotels. As you noted we have beautifully appointed rooms and suites with the perfect mixture of classic style and modern luxury including spa-inspired bathrooms... More

We chose the Exeter Inn based on previous TripAdvisor feedback and we had one of our most successful parties in over 20 years! It is a lovely drive to the Inn; there was a surprise snow storm so the views were spectacular arriving as well as driving back home. Our check-in was a breeze and the front desk offered up... More

MiaVa/, I cannot express how much we appreciate your detailed glowing comments. We are very fortunate to have inherited a location nestled in the heart of historic among stately old growth trees and lush lawns and gardens surrounding the Gazebo you enjoyed in a mid winter snow shower. What we believe sets us apart from all others is our ability... More

The entire inn is worn down and dated. It had me a little sad because twenty years ago, I remember the inn as a comfortable place to stay. We paid extra for the "bridal suite" and while it was spacious it just felt like an old fashioned dorm room. The decorations looked like they were bought from a thrift shop... More

Mas4tune, I can't help but believe that you have our property confused with another. Partly because there is no Holiday Inn Express in Exeter and partly because our renovation was done very recently with the highest quality products and materials, much of which the FF&E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) was the same used in the upscale hotel chain, Westin Hotels... Stayed at the Exeter inn for one nidpght in mid December. Arrived after a big snow storm and the hotel had everything working perfectly well. Entrance and parking had been cleared of the snow. Temperature in the rooms and all parts of the hotel was optimal and it was -8 degrees outside. The renovated bathroms are really nice and, off... More

Smpletraveler, Thank you for your gracious review. Coming from a senior traveler that has logged many miles in numerous cities we truly honored by your review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your "wintery" visit. The bathrooms as you point out are a particularly striking with vessel sinks, heated bathroom mirrors, oversized bath towels, Robes, slippers and Gilchrist & Soames... More

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Exeter Inn in a junior suite in December. The temperature outside was around freezing or just below. We had stayed at the Inn some years ago before the updating. The bathroom had been updated and the heating/cooling changed to thermostat controls on the wall from unit specific controls on the machines.... More

I decided to try the restaurant at the Inn and it was one of the best meals I ever had. Excellent service, food deliciously prepared. I had a chicken dish and a friend had beef, probably the most tender I have had when I tried hers. We shared a cabernet sorbet and passionfruit sorbet dessert that was delectable. We started with... 550MaureenR, Thank you for you glowing review of our restaurant. I will be certain to pass this along to the culinary staff, I know they will be very pleased. The culinary team works very hard to be creative with their menu especially the daily specials while delivering a superior product at a incredibly reasonable value. We do have several banquet... This hotel was updated a few years ago and, though it's lost some of its charm (the new bar and dining room are too "mod" looking for the hotel), it is still a comfortable place to stay. The water pressure in our room was very weak, and the shower in an awkward spot with a slanted ceiling. Anyone over 5'... More
