Durham is well known as the home of the University of New Hampshire but there is also a quaint little inn there that is a right on the edge of town - Three Chimneys Inn! My wife and I stayed there last Saturday as a surprise wedding anniversary get away. We actually drove right by it the first time because... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights recently. Three Chimneys was a fantastic experience in almost every way. Very charming room, we had room #3, which was fairly large, clean room and bathroom. The breakfasts were outstanding, can't say enough about the french toast. Service was great, the girl up front brought up dessert for us one night. The... More

Stairs are fairly easy to haul luggage up and the inn keeper offered to help us. Room was clean and roomy. Bed was comfortable, not too hard or too soft. It did have very high sides making it difficult for shorter people to claim in but it did have a bed stair next to it. The food at inn was... More

This past visit was the second time my husband and I visited Three Chimineys Inn for a two night visit. The first time - it was a convenient stop after visiting friends in New England and Yes we went back! Yes, it is that nice! These people work at paying attention to your needs and making your stay wonderful. I... More

Decided to stay here for our anniversary. It wasn't too far to travel from the seacoast and we have eaten at the Inn before so we decided to try out an overnight trip here. It is a beautiful old Inn built in the 1600's with a lot of rich history surrounding it. The rooms are smaller but nice. Be sure... More

This is a beautiful place but is overpriced by about $50/night. This was NOT a $200/night room (even though is was built in the 1600s). The restaurant however was fantastic. I ate the best clam chowder I had ever eaten (and I eat a lot if it). The Delmonico steak was cooked perfectly and was bursting with flavor. All-in-all..... Ill... More

I had the pleasure of staying here while taking my daugher to see UNH. This historic inn had many great touches, from its onsite tavern, to the oversized bathtubs and four postered beds. Breakfast in the morning was a little unimaginative, but not bad. Only other drawback was a too-small TV -- which, given that most of the Inn's guests... More

Bed and Breakfasts are one of my favorite things. My husband took me here to celebrate my 60th birthday in mid July, and it was just perfect! We had a beautiful room on the second floor of the Carriage House, and it was lovely and quiet. It is hidden high on a hill, and you would never know you were... More

We stayed here on a Saturday for a friends wedding. The location was beautiful and everyone who worked for the Inn was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the main level of the cottage and right under the stairs so it was a little squeaky, but we both fell asleep without an issue. The decor is eclectic and not... More

We picked the TCI over chain hotels in Portsmouth and we’re glad we did. The location is very close to downtown Durham but set upon a hill at the end of a long driveway. For that reason, it’s peaceful and quiet, plus we felt we didn’t have to worry about leaving our luggage in the car. As we were only... More
