Yes this is an old place. Yes the men wear jackets to dinner and yes the elevators are old. Having stated these facts ,in my opinion, add to the experience of staying in such a grand hotel. Staff was extremely attentive and friendly. The views and the grounds are gorgeous beyond words. The food was great and served in a... more

The price you pay for a view is to high & the service poor. The whole place feels like its on its last legs. Even the coffee at breakfast was cold. Its not a case must try harder first of all you must try. I wish we'd read the other comment before we'd stayed more

The hotel rooms are shabby chic to put it nicely. Paint peeling off the ceiling, chips on the bathroom sink, tub and floor. The bay window curtains were the cheapest, flimsiest that you could possibly buy. The roller shades were installed so that 6 inches of light filtered into the room. There is no place to put anything away in... more

Stayed at the Mount Washington Hotel for 3 nights in late April. Weather was fabulous, except the first night, which was rainy, but even that was good, in that in the morning the snow on the mountains made for ideal picture-taking. The location of the hotel is spectacular. The people at the front desk exceedingly professional and friendly. The hotel... more

For decades I have driven by the Mt. Washington Resort, but never as a guest. Finally, my wife, two daughters (22, 15), and I took the plunge. We had a wonderful, albeit too short visit. As it was early spring we happened upon a great package including room, lift tickets, and dinner. From our arrival greeting through departure the staff... more

Stayed there overnight March 15. Nice room, comfy beds, old grand hotel. The outdoor heated pool was nice but...there is no access through the building! You have to walk down a very long winding path, freezing your but off. No one told us you needed a snowsuit to get there! The other issue was the fire alarm - Went off... more

My boyfriend of 4 years and I recently went to Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. We had visited before however never stayed overnight. It was great for what we wanted - had everything right there at the hotel. Great view, great food (expensive but very good) in the dining room - well except... more

When booking this hotel I expected it to be stuff and formal, when in fact it's what you make it. The room was dissapointing, being rather cramped - but I suppose you get what you pay for and more luxurious rooms were obviously available. The breakfast's were varied and of a high quality and overall I'd recommend this hotel, plenty... more

This place is not in good shape. Service is seriously bad and the food situation is just not acceptable (very limited options, jacket required in 2 out of the 3 restaurants (???!!!), bad service, poor food - breakfast is just vile - and just very expensive). Mount Washington is a great location and the skiing around the corner from the... more
