Clean and comfortable, if a little dated, the Scott Shady is like entering a time warp. The rooms are well equipped with TV and coffee making facilities. The rooms themselves are a little small. Everything is in good condition but you feel like you've stepped back a few decades. Wi-Fi was decent enough. No complaints and an interesting place to... More

Classic vintage motel , a 1950's gem representative of the simple fact that older may be better. The original vintage plumbing fixtures are superior in style and function to that which is found today. Cast iron tub being roomy and comfortable. Quality doors fit and function well Obviously Scott Shady has someone far more capable doing maintenance than the all... More

If you're just looking for a clean, comfortable little room, this is a decent place to stay and a good value. Some reviews said it has character, but I wouldn't use that word to describe it. Old and simple with very small rooms is more like it. I could hear trucks passing on the nearby freeway, but I like that... More

I've stayed here three times over the last seven years, as I occasionally end up driving through Nevada on I-80 and know I can count on this place. The owners are friendly and one person can stay for less than $50; the rooms are clean (though very small) and both wi-fi and pets are free. On the last trip (October... More

I stayed here for a couple of days while I was backpacking through Nevada. I chose this place because it was the cheapest in town but I honestly believe you wouldn't get better if you paid more. No, it's not the most modern, and for me as a non-american, I loved the retro charm. The owners were super friendly, the... More

We used to stay at this place when I was a teenager, and it hasn't changed a bit. Absolutely wonderful throwback to a simpler time. The owners are looking to retire and have the place for sale. I sincerely hope that whomever ends up with Scott Shady Court respects the wonderful living time capsule this place represents. Clean, safe, comfortable,... More

This is not a fancy motel but it's clean and inexpensive. It is not on the main road through town but closer to the freeway so I would think the traffic noise is the same. The main issue with Winnemucca, Elko and Wells is the train that blares through town all night long. When traveling 80 through Reno either find... More

After a less than wonderful experience at the Motel 6 in Winnemuuca on the way to California, we decided to try a different place on the return trip. We were intrigued by the reviews, so we decided on the Scott Shady Court. Upon arriving, we thought the place looked a little shabby, but once we got into the room, we... More

We started at this motel on our way to California. The rooms are tiny and you need to bring your own shampoo and soap! I will have to say the price was right for a short stay. I would recommend staying here when you are traveling.

Run by a brother and sister and has been in the family since it's start in 1928. We stayed in rooms that had Saint names - alphabetical. Poor is cold. GREAT price - $48. Very clean. Free wifi. Not many electrical outlets - as to be expected from this era. You can choose a room with a covered place to... More
