Indeed the motel and room are from an earlier time, but all was great !! Clean, small room for 2 was very adequate. Comfortable and clean bed. AC worked great !! Loved the pool ! It was a wonderful treat after an 8+ hour drive! Pool was clean and a great size to do laps. Did not try sauna, but... More

This motel is a step back in time. Don't get me wrong, it is nice but dated.. Looks like the original door and faucets are still in use. I can see why it is up for sale. It was good enough for one night

Vintage--as in I would hazard that they are original from the 60's?--furnishings were worn, but functional. No frills room--soap only "amenity" and that was hard white vintage style tiny hotel bar as well! Toilet ran all night, and the sheets were a bit rough feeling, but the water was hot and the pressure was good and everything was clean and... More

Great funky overnight respite from the wide open spaces of Nevada when you're just trying to get somewhere. Charming units with great retro architecture and room features. They're all named after places in California that start with "Santa" - Catalina, Monica, etc. Our bed was nice with good linens and had fun car-seat type seating. No A/C but the night... More

Wonderful place- my room even had a very modern A/C and heating module complete with remote control!! Situated at the end of the street this place is quiet despite being close to I-80. Short walk to Winnemucca Pizza too. I hope this place never changes; have to do another road trip that takes me through here soon!

We needed a place to sleep as we were passing through. This was a quiet place off the main street. The hotel is older but clean. There was only soap in the bathroom. The bed was pretty firm. There is a pool and Jacuzzi but we did not use them. The price was right. Chihuahua's restaurant right down the road... More

Clean and comfortable, if a little dated, the Scott Shady is like entering a time warp. The rooms are well equipped with TV and coffee making facilities. The rooms themselves are a little small. Everything is in good condition but you feel like you've stepped back a few decades. Wi-Fi was decent enough. No complaints and an interesting place to... More

Classic vintage motel , a 1950's gem representative of the simple fact that older may be better. The original vintage plumbing fixtures are superior in style and function to that which is found today. Cast iron tub being roomy and comfortable. Quality doors fit and function well Obviously Scott Shady has someone far more capable doing maintenance than the all... More

If you're just looking for a clean, comfortable little room, this is a decent place to stay and a good value. Some reviews said it has character, but I wouldn't use that word to describe it. Old and simple with very small rooms is more like it. I could hear trucks passing on the nearby freeway, but I like that... More

I've stayed here three times over the last seven years, as I occasionally end up driving through Nevada on I-80 and know I can count on this place. The owners are friendly and one person can stay for less than $50; the rooms are clean (though very small) and both wi-fi and pets are free. On the last trip (October... More
