"Been there done that--got the tee shirt" is the best way to describe the experience. Grimy "water closet" and 1870's bed prod me to tell you to see the town--then get a room in Reno. They tout the Ghost--and so does every other place in town. There is history to see in Virginia City--but it's overshadowed by taudry places like... More

Stayed two nights in room 26. It's rustic as one might expect from old old hotel. We didn't stay here for nice accommodations but for those looking for Room review here goes - slow draining sink in room. Floor slanted. Could feel springs in mattress. Carpet looked newer but bed spread looked like it was from a garage sale. Could... More

Last May I spent a night in room 11 with my wife. If you are looking for comfort, then it's not really a place to stay. If you are looking for ghosts, then this IS the place to stay. After bar hopping, my wife passed out. I however, brought my ghost hunting equipment (EMP, Thermometer, and video recorder). I took... More

We love Virginia City.. the history is amazing. We came to get married at the historic courthouse (which is beautiful). We had two rooms, one adjoining and one facing the street (19&20). The only complaint we had were the beds. They need replaced. Everything else is out of the hotel's control. It's an old hotel, walls are thin. People don't... More

This is the second time I have stayed at this beautiful old hotel . It' s great to have no TV or phone in the rooms . On October 31 , 2014 I stayed in room 7 at the back of the hotel and had two windows which was really nice . Left my recorder on in the room but... More

This hotel and bar are old and historic, The room was great and the bar is awesome. Friendly people and the drinks are well made and a VERY good price. We had a light bulb out in the bathroom, it was replaced in less than 10 minutes. Talk about quick service. Thanks for a great time.

We were on a spontaneous road trip & had made no plans as to where to stay. Pulled into Virginia City around 7:00pm and picked the Silver Queen because it looked historical. Only after we checked in did we learn it's history & that the hotel was haunted. We were thrilled to hear there was a Ghost Walk starting within... More

My fiance and I went to Virginia City on 9/10 for a two night stay. We had no idea what to expect or where to stay. I literally called the first hotel that came up in my Google search and found the Silver Queen. Don't remember whom I spoke with but they said they had a room and would stay... More

I've stayed at the Silver Queen twice in the last two months. Although I do wish it had air conditioning, the weather in Virginia City isn't as hot as in Reno so it's bearable. I asked for third floor with a window, and by the evening it had cooled enough to allow me to sleep comfortably. No TV, sporadic cell... More

I have stayed at the Silver Queen 5 times. Not the most fancy, but clean. Walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything outside your room. Beds are OK, some a little saggy. But you are staying here for the history. This is by no means a 5 Star resort. You also have to endure the ghost walk people.... More
