Stayed at the Silver Queen on a Wednesday night in June. The hotel is very old so we weren't expecting top notch amenities. The bed was very old and room was kind of warm on account of no AC, but I found the charm of the hotel out weighed any negatives. Definitely heard some creaking and people walking around at... More

Love this place! We were in town and spent a little while in the bldg- which was amazing! I wanted to purchase a t shirt but the place was packed so I decided to come back in the morning. My husband is a "stick to the schedule" kind of guy and wanted to be on the road at 8 a.m.... More

Stayed here as part of our cross country bike trip. Stayed for the experience. It's super old, probably among the oldest hotels in the West. So, It really is about the experience. If you're looking for comfort or privacy, don't stay, otherwise very cool. Great for the history buff...and Virginia is such an amazing place. I loved it and will... More

I did not stay in the hotel but had a lot of fun in the bar and casino. Service was very good and friendly. Go in to see the Silver Queen on the wall. Her dress is made of silver dollars and is very big. Pretty cool to see. The decor is very nice. They also have a little wedding... More

This is a kitschy, supposedly haunted hotel, with lots to offer if you want to feel like you're in the old wild west and don't care much about amenities. We were lucky to get a room with a window, so the temperature wasn't bad. The hotel is very old and has been retrofitted for modern electricity and plumbing. After reading... More

Came here for a one night stay with a friend. Since each room is rather unique, we had no idea what to expect when we reserved room 12 (a reportedly quasi haunted room). This is definitely not a place to stay if you are looking for a good night's sleep. There is a sign that says you must be quiet... More

"Been there done that--got the tee shirt" is the best way to describe the experience. Grimy "water closet" and 1870's bed prod me to tell you to see the town--then get a room in Reno. They tout the Ghost--and so does every other place in town. There is history to see in Virginia City--but it's overshadowed by taudry places like... More

Stayed two nights in room 26. It's rustic as one might expect from old old hotel. We didn't stay here for nice accommodations but for those looking for Room review here goes - slow draining sink in room. Floor slanted. Could feel springs in mattress. Carpet looked newer but bed spread looked like it was from a garage sale. Could... More

Last May I spent a night in room 11 with my wife. If you are looking for comfort, then it's not really a place to stay. If you are looking for ghosts, then this IS the place to stay. After bar hopping, my wife passed out. I however, brought my ghost hunting equipment (EMP, Thermometer, and video recorder). I took... More

We love Virginia City.. the history is amazing. We came to get married at the historic courthouse (which is beautiful). We had two rooms, one adjoining and one facing the street (19&20). The only complaint we had were the beds. They need replaced. Everything else is out of the hotel's control. It's an old hotel, walls are thin. People don't... More
