After driving all day in a terrible wind storm, we decided to stop in Tonapah; not our original destination. As we walked into the lobby of the Mizpah, we were sure that it would be out of our price range. It was clean and beautiful, but had just enough original character to make it feel like an old hotel. We... More

This is an old restored hotel. They did a GREAT job restoring the hotel. There are so many beautiful parts of the hotel. The employees are so helpful, and ask if they can take your picture in this beautiful hotel. They have old pictures of famous guests lined in the halls. Its so fun to see them all.The food at... It's been over 15 years since I last stayed at the Mizpah and what an experience. If you're looking for a gigantic 5-star resort suite, this ain't it. But if you're looking for a well-appointed piece of history, complete with in-house restaurant and bar, the new-and-improved Mizpah will be hard to beat. Staff extremely pleasant.

This historic hotel is so well renovated and the staff is super enthusiastic about the property. It is even haunted! Couldn't see staying in any other hotel when driving through this area. Ate in their cafe, too, and it was great. This is a DO NOT MISS!!

We're traveling by trailer, and stopped in Tonopah on the way to Yosemite. The hotel exterior is very handsome, so we went inside to view the lobby and ended up eating in the cafe. The food is fresh and delicious, and there is a comprehensive wine list. So impressed, we looked at a room, and will definitely stay there next... More

We seek out historic lodging when we travel. The current owners have done a lovely joy refurbishing the entire property, and it's classy. We thought that providing continental breakfast ONLY UNTIL 7:00 a.m. was beyond tacky. They can say thay provide it, but with those hours they don't actually serve most tourists. We set the alarm and arrived at 6:45---just... More

An overnight stay en route from San Francisco to Las Vegas. Lovingly refurbished hotel taking you back to the turn of the century. Comfortable rooms (only slight criticism would be the lack of a desk in the room), friendly bar and helpful staff. Sadly we didn't meet the Lady in Red ghost!

We were visiting Death Valley and need a place to stay heading back east to Utah. Great hotel. The staff is fantastic. Rooms are clean and decorated with period replicas. Nice town. We ate downstairs at the cafe. Decent food. Wine was pricey but the hotel owners are owners if wineries so I'm not surprised. Would stay here again if... More

Had the pleasure of staying at the Mizpah for the first time. LOVED it! The main lobby/lounge area is a wonderful gathering point. It is inviting, comfortable and just a terrific area to hang out in. Rooms were decorated with period furnishings, and very comfortable although a bit on the small side.

We just had the pleasure to stay at the Mizpah Hotel. This amazing little jewel is the main attraction in what was once a booming mining town. Lovingly reopened after sitting dormant for more than 10 years, this beautiful hotel is listed on the National Historic Registry. A visit to the Mizpah Hotel transports visitors to another time when the... More
