If you have a clown phobia, this place is not for you! It is an older motel, but our room was absolutely spotless, and the bed very comfy. There are no amenities--hair dryer, in-room coffee maker, clock...but for $40-something, it's a deal. The folks who run the motel are super nice, and there's early (7am) coffee in the lobby. We... This is NOT a B & B as listed on tripadvisor. It is a basic inexpensive motel. The rooms look older on the inside than on the outside, but they are generally clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. For the price it is acceptable. The carpets are worn, walls and woodwork is dirty. There is NO breakfast. This property... More

We have driven by the Clown Motel numerous times and saw that it was somewhat run down but still thought we would give it a chance. Besides, it cost about the same for us to stay at the Clown Motel for two nights as it did for one night at the previous place we stayed. Well, you get what you... More

We were visiting ghost towns all over Nevada and Tonopah, NV was on our list. As it was getting to the afternoon we decided we would get a hotel first and then do some more looking. We started seeing a lot of NO Vacancy signs, and ended up at the Clown Motel, where we got the last room at 2PM... More

We were planning a trip to Tonopah to see the Tonopah Historic Mining Park and ran across the Clown Motel and knew we had to stay there. (Also, don't miss the Mining Park, it's incredible.) Check the Clown before you go because the demand for rooms has been very high lately. The weekend is your best bet. We talked to... More

You might not get into the parking lot if you are a coulrophobic (fear clowns). If it weren't for the clowns this would be your basic inexpensive, clean motel but add the clowns and you get a great story so I'm giving it a 3 plus an additional star for the uniqueness. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful,... More

we did not stay here but had to go in and see all the clowns. We actually had wanted to stay here but it was full. The price is great and it right next to the Tonopah cemetery (another place to see with history)you might even see the ghost there. You have to see the clowns, Can't wait til we... More

It's not overly fancy but the rooms are large and very clean. The place was packed but it was still surprisingly quiet. The owners were friendly and helpful with any questions that we had about the area. They directed us to a historic cemetery right off their property that was fascinating. Check out wasn't until 11 which allowed a bit... More

If you stay here and don't like it you must make a lot of bad choices. The sign out front says "Clown Motel, $35 per night, motorcycles welcome". The construction workers trucks are already there by 4 PM. How much more warning would you need? We found the rooms clean and the place was quiet. The staff was a hoot.... More

The rooms are large. They are pet-friendly. They are knowledgeable about local history and events. They personally visit the local eateries and give accurate assessments. The price is low which is perfect for us because we sleep in our room. They provide hot coffee in the morning in the office. Rooms have refrigerators and microwaves. I have stayed at several... More
