We stayed on a leisure trip with our two kids, and all I have to say is NEVER AGAIN! It was not worth the ridiculous rates and inconveniences. We checked in and walked through the walkway, which had a beautiful view of the pool area (very nice covered in snow), and that was where our good impressions stopped. The elevator... more

I stayed at the Horizon with a group in January. After reading previous reviews I was not sure, if the hotel had gone downhill since may previous stay about 6 years ago, but in the end was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is older than some, but that is reflected in the price of the rooms, and as long as you... more

The Horizon is an older property and is a bit shop-worn around the edges, but more than adequate. The week-day rate was outstanding, and the staff was very efficient and helpful. It's not a "luxury" hotel by any means, but our room was spacious and clean with a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains. Pool closed for... more

I suggest before booking a stay at this hotel you check to see if there are going to be any school parties staying while you are there. We stayed for 7 nights during the Easter holidays- unfortunately so did a lot of school children. Some were very well mannered BUT there were quite a lot who were a disgrace to... more

We read the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor before booking our stay. We got such a great deal that we figured we would give it a try. Being lovers of the Tahoe area for years, we have stayed at everything from one star motor lodges to 4 star resorts. This trip we were just looking to escape our lives and... more

We had a problem with the noise level in our room due to being near the elevator. The front desk staff were very rude and essentially accused my husband and I of just looking for a "deal" because they had warned us about the noise and had given us a discount that we did not even ask for. They did... more

I wanted to put together an inexpensive trip to Lake Tahoe to do some skiing. I found this place through my travel agent. I was not expecting much. I was traveling with my finance and one of my friends. After my agent booked the room, I called the hotel to make sure the room was non smoking. They seemed to... more

The workout room had several modern treadmills. We had a great, almost private workout. There were no hidden fees and the staff was friendly and helpful. They even delivered toothpaste to our room within minutes of our request. The shower, toilet, and sink, were all clean. One enjoyable feature of this hotel was the Starbucks in the lobby. Very convenient. more

I have to admit being a little worried by the reviews on this site but when i arrived to check in it was a polite and efficient process. The public areas were all clean the staff from comp girls to cleaners were also polite. The room was clean and of a good size, maybe a little dated, limited TV channels... more
