After reading TripAdvisor, we didn't have a lot of confidence in Montbleu. Immediately upon arrival, we were pleased with our choice to stay there, though! We had booked the Tuscan Room to celebrate our 10th anniversary, but ended up downgrading to the basic King room for two nights because we decided to explore the Lake Tahoe rather than sit in... Several friends and family members stayed at this hotel in early October 2008, we were going to a wedding at Edgewood. Everyone had complaints about their rooms. I'll start by saying it is over 10 years late for a remodel. Don't believe any positive reviews about this hotel, it is a dump. The only thing that was acceptable is the... More

My husband and I booked this hotel by bidding on priceline for $85 per night. We thought it would be a great deal for a 3.5 star hotel. NOPE!!! When we checked in they charged us with a non-optional "resort fee" of $10 per night to use the pool and get a few other things that other guests had included... More

Do not even go to the website - it is incredibly deceiving! We booked this as a part of our CA Roadtrip/Honeymoon. Thought the place was upscale - boy was I wrong! The rooms are VERY outdated - NOT A NICE PLACE TO STAY AT ALL! Valet service was terrible. I complained to the manager, all she did was take... More

My wife and I stayed at the Montbleu in Tahoe as an anniversary get away over the weekend of Sept 27. I was tempted not to stay because of the room rate, nearly $250 a night, but ok we don’t so this much. Not that $250 is a lot for a NICE room but I did expect more. I can’t... More

We had the opposite experience from several reviewers who were disappointed. After getting a very low mid-week rate for two nights, we were pleasantly surprised by our sunny 10th floor room with lake view (we did ask for nice view). The bathroom and jacuzzi were spotless, the beds very comfy, two water bottles daily and those nice Aveda toiletries were... More

Our two-night stay was part of a sales incentive from my spouse's company, so I should start by saying that the room was paid for by the company. I had heard a variety of things about this place, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It is definitely caught between generations and incarnations. It is clear that this used to... More

My husband and I stayed here over the weekend (9/20/08). We wanted a romantic weekend getaway, and drove up from Reno. I booked this "Premier" room online. The pictures were deceiving to say the least. The Montbleu has updated the casino, as well as all of the restaurants and clubs, but I assure you, the room was STILL Caesar's circa... More

This as well as other travel review sites describes The Montbleau in terms ranging from ho-hum to outright vitriolic. Who are these people?? I have to thank your reviewers though for providing my spouse and I with the most unexpectedly pleasant surprise of our lifetimes! The youthful exuberance and professional courtesies expressed by the well trained staff at The Montbleau... More

Stayed at the Montbleu this past weekend (August 08), it was okay but expensive for the quality. Rooms were clean but are dated. Pool layout is real nice, but definitely worn. The hotel can do with a renovation. We did book late, so we paid a little more then if you booked early. OK, but if you had an opportunity... More
