We just returned from Reno last week. The Sands Regency always has great prices and we get to pick the tower we want to stay in. We like to stay in the tower that has the hot tub in it. The resort could use some updating. The walls are super thin and when the other folks are taking a shower... More

I've reviewed the Sands before, and generally, I like the accommodations, although I was disappointed that they disregarded my request for a preferred location in the hotel. Travelers should know that the Sands is one of the lower-cost casino "resorts" in Reno, and you get what you pay for. That being said, if you're on a budget, it's a good... More

Went down for the North American Shuffleboard Championship, 8 days in a casino environment is a lot for anyone! The rooms were fresh and clean, the staff were mostly outstanding and the Cabana Cafe was a great spot for morning coffee or something to during the day. Our experiences at the Buffet and The Copa were less than impressive. Of... More

i have been staying at the Sands for the past few years on a regular basis. The checkin is usually quick and the lines move fast. The rooms although 50ish are large and comfortable and the TVs old and small but are nice for the price. The casino is ok, 5 dollar blackjack pays 3:2 and you can play for... More

Price and location are great. Good food deals but quality has really fallen off. The casino itself has really deteriated over the past few years and not my favorite place to go anymore. There have been Fights in the casino the last two times I've visited.

Re-visited the Sands for a 25th consecutive table shuffleboard tournament. This not one of the more opulent casino hotels like the Silver Legacy etc, but it is a comfortable value priced hotel with a great staff, clean comfortable rooms and a pretty full complement of gambling and dining options. It is only 15 minutes from the airport and is a... More

This is a nice inexspensive hotel/casino to stay at in Reno, easy to get to and always plenty of parking. Has a nice workout room and large hottub on the 14th floor with all glass walls, for a great view of the mtns. in the area. Also, has a dry sauna and steamroom on same floor. Buffet is very affordable... More

My husband and I go to Reno once a year, we like the sands because of Value and the pool, we have attended some pool party's and they have a bar down there, We spend all day at the pool and do our gambling at night. For this reason it is really nice to have the bar there. We have... More

The price was good and was one of the only places where I could stay with my dog in my room. The pet policies for this place I found online did not match what I experienced upon check-in, but I was still satisfied (several online websites state that pets stay free, but that is not the case). The casino is... More

Reno's worst bar and bartender=3rd Street Bar, Sands Regency and Lolita=Horrible service ruined my weekend. AVOID! The bartender, Lolita was exceptionally rude Saturday Night when Reno had its Zombie Crawl. She ignored me even though I tipped for the first and last drink which cost $2 a dollar both me and several people at one end of the bar where... More
