We have stayed here before. Very friendly staff. Room was clean, nice view of the mountains & the pool. The only complaint is... My husband is handicapped, so when we went to eat at Mel's Diner, we had to wait for security for the key to the lift. We waited one time for 15 minutes. That is the only Downfall.... more

For the $25 a night rate I got online, who can complain. It was worth being in the seedier side of downtown Reno, and walking through a smoke choked lobby to get to the elevator to the room. The hotel itself is a bit tired but it was a decent room, and we had a great view of sunset over... more

This hotel tends to receive a lot of bad reviews, seems that people forget that you get what you pay for. If you want 5-star service, go to a 5-star hotel. The Sands is completely adequate for their rates. The rooms are large, the pool is huge & clean, live music on the weekend and the location is great... just... more

I spend the weekend at the Sands Regency in RENO. The room was booked several days in advance at the advice of EXPEDIA. Checkin was easy and the staff polit and helpful, but there the is where anything good ended. Our room was on a non-smoking floor, but the smell of smoke was overwhelming. The room looked ok, but LOOKS... more

We had a nice enough time when we were at the hotel, the room was fine, we had no problems. The headache began after we got home. The hotel charged our credit card a lower rate than they were supposed to at the time. Six weeks later I notice another charge on my statement from the hotel. I called to... more

We paid $39 for one nite, that was a big mistake pay the extra and stay at CircusCircus or Silver Legacy. The room smelled awful, I found long dark hairs in the bed, the carpet was filthy, and the bathtub did not drain. You get what you pay for. more

TRIP PURPOSE: We stayed here because it is the cheapest decent hotel we could find in Reno. Our purpose was to ski. THE GOOD: The rooms in this hotel are extra large and very clean. It is located near the heart of the action in Reno. The Sands offers discounted lift tickets to the local mountains (about $10 less than... more

When I reserved a room at this hotel for $34/night, I wasn't expecting much. Given that price point, I was quite pleased with the results! The Sands Regency is located a couple of blocks off downtown, so most everything is walkable. It also has a decent casino, a couple of restaurants, a couple of fast food places, and a small... more
