The hotel is safe, clean, the food is good, service is excellent. The room was clean and quiet, they need to work on the filtering of the air better, bur other then that the Hotel was nice. We were treated very nice there.

We always have a fun time staying at The Sands. It is a down home feeling, safe clean good food and fun games and tables. Clean rooms good food and comfy lounge. The Sands is conveniently located and has easy access to downtown and landmarks.

I have stayed at most of the fancy hotel/casinos in the Reno area over the years, being a solo traveler, I prefer the small town atmosphere. The hotel/casino employees are always friendly & treat you as if they know you, and are very helpful. The rooms are always clean & very reasonable. And, It's within walking distance to almost everything.... More

I've never stayed in such a dirty room! The top words to describe my room are nasty, stained, old, chunky (because of whatever it is on the walls). I wouldn't go barefoot, no coffee maker. Not a place I will stay again..

My fiance and I stayed there while getting married in Reno the location is great downtown, it within walking distance of almost everything. There is cab service right out the front door, the rooms are great for your value make sure you book ahead. We enjoyed our stay and will be back next year for sure!

I always stay at the Sands in the Empress Toer. The rooms are huge, the beds firm and the best rates. It's a decent place to stay and within 4 blocks of 6 major casinos. Go outside, take a break from Harrahs and head over to Circus Circus. The casino staff aren't real cheerfull, but the odds are as good... More

We stayed in July of 2014. It was our honeymoon. Our first room had urine running down the wall and was filthy dirty, Our second room had a huge rip in the bed spread, trash in the corner, pubic hairs on the toilet and floor, urine on the toilet and poop in the toilet, a jacuzzi that had bare wires... We always stay at the Sands. It is reasonable. We don't reserve $300 / night rooms, we only sleep in them. So if you want a clean room to sleep in and a nice casino to play in and great restaurants, the Sands is the place. Most of the other casino's are within walking distance. For us and our budget,... This was our second time staying at the Sands. Enjoyed the retro and resent music and videos. Lots of up beat people and friendly staff. The rooms were clean and decent.Lots of food and dining options also.

I would rate this hotel Excellent if i wasn't put into the room on the extreme corner of the hotel. Right next to the hotel is the train line and i could hear a loud train sound every couple of hours during my sleep, other than that i won't complaint. The rooms were good size, very nice view of the... More
