I'm not too picky when it comes to hotels, especially in budget-friendly destinations such as Reno, but this hotel really is not as nice as it should be. It's well below the usual Holiday Inn. I booked two rooms at the Holiday Inn Reno for myself and my spouse and another couple using my Priority Club Points. Yes, the hotel is not in the greatest part of town but beside the main strip, not much of downtown Reno is that fantastic. Not bad at all -- got room for $41 a night on priceline.com. The room I stayed in up on the 10th floor was completely renovated and new.
