We had the need for a 1 nighter near to the airport in Reno. Honestly, if you are able to score an updated room, I don't think you can do much better. We got upgraded to the concierge floor by the graciousness of the desk manager. We really appreciated their hospitality. The high floor room was quiet, spacious and seemingly... More

I recently had the great misfortune of staying at the Grand Sierra in Reno. Like most, I made a reservation for my room of choice (king bed, accessible) and when I arrived was told they did not have such a room. Arrived at 4pm and 6 hours and three rooms later I finally got my reserved room (it did exist... More

I came here with my friend for a 2 weekend night stay. We chose not to upgrade when we were asked. Therefore we were on the lower level. I really like the big ceiling g this hotel has due to smoking g in the casino. They do have non-smoking area I. The casino but you know how the air lingers.... More

The location of our room, 1554 was like sleeping next to gigantic air compressors and/or under airplanes taking off. As I write this, it is 3:30 in the morning. Front desk said it was the elevators. It explains the extremely loud whoooshing. Had we any idea, we would have requested a room far away as possible. It is not fun... More

Spent time here during Reno Air Races. When booked it sounded great. Only to find out it is the old MGM Casino. Beds and furnishings were dated. Trim on furniture was peeling off and appeared repaired recently. Commodities in bathroom neglected. Casino is located next to freeway so very noisy all night. Interior was noisy all night slamming doors and... More

We were in town to tour the University of Reno. We stayed at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino and were very happy with our stay. The rooms were very clean and we felt safe during our stay. The air quality was terrific and we will definitely return.

You finally get through your hellacious exodus after the Man burns and desperately try to shake off any semblance of the default world that goes blaring past you. Siri directs you to the GSR parking lot where your dusty car is among the majority. No more unsuspecting guests with quizzical looks. Everyone knows why we're here and the employees are... More

They have someone clean the doors and are keeping the shiny things shiny now. Remodeled Cafe, Bar, and downstairs is a great improvement. Johnny Rockets is downstairs now, and they keep it clean and well-lit. It doesn't feel like a dungeon any more. The dress shop downstairs may look upscale, but the prices are just right.

We had a return stay to the Grand Sierra and we were pleasantly surprised as the resort has made some great improvements. The room decor is much lighter and brighter than previous stays with dark interiors. The casino area made some upgrades and the overall feel is much more pleasant. This hotel has many entertainment options like bowling, golf driving... More
