Stayed Friday and Saturday night this last week...not a horrible hotel but not great either...from the moment you hit the front door the smoke is almost overpowering...the only time you couldn't smell it is when you were in your room..tried four of the restaurants ...the Buffett , Biscola, Pacific Rim, and Charlie Palmers...the food was only good at Charlie's and... Booked the room on Hotwire.com. $48 at a "4-Star" hotel/resort. Well, we wound up with a $48-dollar room, that's for sure. The check-in clerk was professional and efficient, so it was a smooth check-in. However, we struggle to understand what was "4-Star" quality about our room. The bathroom: no fan, no towel racks, and the towels we'd had the night... More

We normally stay at another resort when in Reno, but it was booked, so we opted to try the Grand Sierra Resort (GSR). It is located in an area separate from the other casinos, but very conveniently off the freeway. There is also a Walmart within walking distance, which is great if you forget items or just want to buy... More

I hadn't stayed here since this was a Hilton property. It was very nicely redone. The tower room was clean and no smells, comfy bed, great wet bar area with a refrigerator large enough to actually hold a few things. I was able to go to my meetings and then kick back. I'll be back.

GSR has been our go to first choice for sometime. This trip we were able to use the swimming pool, it was pretty busy, but it is summer so just joined in with all the other vacationers and their children. The room was clean, beds comfortable and generally basic, but we had complimentary rooms which was icing on the cake,... More

Came for a three day stay and was happy as always when staying here. Our rooms in the Summit Tower were spacious and clean. Service from car valet, bell services, front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, & casino was all top notch. With almost every kind of restaurant you could want, a movie theater, bowling alley, kids arcade, and a beautiful pool... More

It had been over 7 years since my last visit to Reno and my first time staying at the Grand Sierra Resort, as all the other times I've stayed in downtown. This time we chose GSR since we now have a small child and this hotel had many things to do for us as a family. We spent hours by... More

We had a great time at our meeting in May. The facilities and staff were excellent. The needs of those attending the multi-day meeting were met with great hospitality. All departments were very accommodating.

I've never had an issue with this hotel. I love the new pool area, work out facility, and the multitude of amenities. You rarely need to leave the hotel. Bowling alley, video golf, driving range, movie theater... not much else to ask for. The lunch time dining leaves something to be desired, but it's serviceable. The property is nice and... More
