The drinks are cheap. The food is a bargain: their grill gives you enough for 2 meals for a low, low price. There is lots of glitter and activity and the casino is in the heart of old Reno near the Biggest Little City signs. Lights and glitter a plenty. Unfortunately the Pleasure Pit wasn't open when I was there.... More

A.Crosby - Our family loves to eat here every time we come to Reno. It have become a tradition for the 4th of July holiday. They give best food portion, prices,& most importantly FLAVOR. They have the best War wonton soup (it's very fulfilling), Turkey gobbler is deliciously different and all the breakfast are superb. I got to say "Hats... More

My husband & I fully enjoyed our experience at the Cal Neva in Reno. The cafe is fast, clean, delicious, has the kindest staff & best prices in town! The gaming was good & very enjoyable & we also enjoyed their pool tables & darts on the 2nd level. We would highly recommend the Cal Neva to everyone.

This busy casino has an excellent coffee shop, with amazingly good prices, and turns out fine food, and lots of it, with good service to go with the food. It is always busy, and a great place for breakfast or lunch.

Our family visited the restaurant on the third floor ordering steak & eggs, prime rib, and country fried stead entrees. As soon as we sat down our waiter came over introduced himself and took drink orders immediately. He returned and we ordered, since my husband is diabetic we were asking about substitute items working with us our waiter suggested tomatos... More

I visited the Cal Neva in September, 2013. Since I'm a sports bettor, this place has been my favorite since the mid-80s. This was my first visit since ownership changed hands. While it's still a great place to place bets, the makeover gave it that corporate feel. They continue to have the best odds and the sports deli is nice.... More

WOW, I am really impressed with the service they provide. The Hotel service was great, the atmosphere was awesome, and the food was great. I would reccomend this place to anyone who loves penny machines and good times. It's in a great location down town right by the river and street festivals. Definately the best bang for your buck!

Cal Neva is by far the best deal in Reno. The hotel rates are reasonable, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is the most friendly that I have encountered anywhere. The casino also have great value, with liberal slot machines, $3 blackjack, $4.95 Steak and Fries, and staff that will go out of their way to help.... More

The Neva is everything I expected! A great place to gamble, eat (best bang for your buck in Reno is the Top Deck Rest. and the hidden gem is the Steak and Pasta Shoppe), drink, sing (yes they have karaoke),stay, bet sports, weekend beer pong tournaments, anything you could ask...Yes the Neva is a older property but if you looking... I really don't care what anyone else says. This place rocked! First of all, the hotel was reasonably priced. The rooms were clean and the staff was pleasant and helpful. John - presumably the hotel manager - was very helpful and accessible all weekend long. The casino though was the best reason for staying here. $1 beers and $3 blackjack?... More
