Wanted to see and stay at the Overland, and knew some of its history, but didn't want my wife to know too much ahead of time, as it was featured on Ghost Adventures. From the moment we walked into the Saloon which is where you check in, we had a fabulous time. We stayed in room 14, (not the infamous... More

Sooooo... its 5AM local time, i did not plan on leaving early. I am traveling on business and have an appointment this morning. I thought the name of the hotel was familiar, but I was tired and when I saw there were a lot of 5 star ratings here, I decided to stop. I was tired and hungry, so I... More

I had to work out of town and booked the nearest hotel I could find with a decent price. After looking online at the rooms and such, I decided to choose one of their theme rooms and book the hotel. It stated I could go ahead and book thru paypal. Not so. Paypal had no record of the hotel. I... More

Our family grew up in the neighboring mining town of Castleton and Pioche was the "big town" (all 800 of them) when we were all 5 to 15 years old. My three sisters and I returned for a family reunion and stayed at the Overland Hotel. Extremely nice Western themed rooms - very clean - and of course the owners... More

This is such a fun place to stay when going thru Nevada. This time we had two grandkids, and stayed in the Victoria suite - three beds, two extra small rooms, all with terrific period furniture. Even though this is closest to the saloon, we had a quiet night and no trouble with cigarette smoke. The adjoining little shop was... More

This is my 2nd visit, love this old place! Rooms are themed. I stayed in Room 15, "The Lodge". It had overstuffed leather couch and chair, air conditioning was on when I arrived (outdoor temp was 101, after all it's Nevada). The room has a mini fridge and a small microwave. Rooms were under $75. The building is over 100... More

Spent one night there on our way to great basin national park. There are not many choices in that region, so after checking the reviews we decided to go to pioche. It was a good choice. The rooms are small but sufficient for us. The owners have been doing some renovation recently and everything was clean. The rooms are upstairs,... More

I favor local business over chain motels but I also insist on a well-run operation: clean, good quality bed, good plumbing, decent wifi and responsive staff. The Overland Hotel delivers all this and more. The owners have put a lot of love into this place, and it shows. Mid-week in summer, the town is nearly a ghost town, with a... More

We stumbled upon this great motel. Newly remodeled rooms, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Loved it! Good friendly People. Restaurant across the street had good food with friendly people. We will be sure to put this hotel on our must return list.

The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished, and the rates are a very good deal. A charming saloon and casino downstairs, and being in Nevada, you have to put up with some cigaret smoke, but it's worth it. Rooms are upstairs, no elevator that I saw. Staff very friendly. There is food across the street at the Silver Cafe, which is... More
