We would never have heard of this place but for Ghost Adventures. It is very reasonably priced, with both a microwave and fridge. I can't handle smoke, so we didn't even try to eat or drink there. The Silver Cafe across the street is funky (sells swords, too!), and was fine and friendly. We told Stephanie we really needed non-smoking,... More

There are not many options in Pioche, but this is clearly the best. The rooms are above the saloon, and while the entire atmosphere was smoky, my rooms (I stayed twice over a week) were not - which was great. The beds were fantastic - I think they had some kind of foam top. Super comfortable.

The room we stayed in was nice and clean the price was reasonable. However, even though we had a non-smoking room it smelled really smoky. Our clothes came away smelling like smoke too. I figure it was a combination of the smoky bar downstairs and the smoking spot just down the hall at the top of the smoke-stairs. Maybe other... More

Admittedly we were only interested in a place to spend the night. After driving from George, Utah we were caught unprepared for the scarcity of accommodations on our route to Reno. Ely was still 112 miles away but it was time to 'hole up" for the night. My first impression was that we felt lucky to find this place. Everything... More

My wife and I stayed at the Overland in October 2014 while on a road trip. This Town/Hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. The Hotel was recently remodeled, but still retains the feel of and Old Saloon/Hotel. The room was clean and quiet and very interesting. (The floor slants all different ways) The price was very reasonable.... More

I don't think anyone except five star luxury clientele would not appreciate this find. Pioche is a town old westerns can be modeled on. It found someway to survive without importing the renovation standards of fudge shops and phoney old western photo studios that destroy locales. The Overland is the centerpiece of a town too tough to die. No elevator,... More

My hunting buddy and I stayed at the Overland Hotel on a recent Nevada deer hunt. We found the room to be very clean having been recently renovated. We stayed in room # 1 at the top of the stairs. All rooms are on the second floor and there are no elevators. Without doubt this is your best choice in... More

What can I say, best night of an 11 day road trip, and we (party of four) stayed in L.A., San Francisco,Yosemite,Monument Valley and Las Vegas. The difference? The people. You don't get the staff that are programmed how to treat and talk to tourists as if they're reading it from a handbook. They will speak to you because they want to,not because they feel... This hotel is simple fantastic. We chose room 15 the lodge and were absolutely amazed by the size of the room and the bathroom. The decor was beautiful, and the bed and bedding were like being in your own bed at home, not the usual cheap hotel offerings. This was the least expensive hotel we stayed at on our trip... More

The rooms are over the Saloon and have been remodeled and each one has a theme. They are very well done. You do need to climb a fairly steep stairway to get to any of the rooms, but this hotel is the best option for hundreds of miles. Very reasonably priced.
