Saying goodbye to an old friend. Yeah it was getting worn down, and the clientele was slipping. The staff was poorly trained and the service was spotty. Still we made a lot of bets, saw a lot of shows and swam a lot of laps in the pool. It's the last of an era.

I'm going to miss the Riviera. It is closing in May to be torn down by the Las Vegas Convention Center. It was always a great place and location to stay and the staff were all great! There is a Deuce bus stop right out front, making it easy to reach any destination in Vegas. Wonderful food in the Wicked... More

Sadly the Riviera closes on May 4, 2015 having just celebrated 60 years as a hotel. Your comfortable rooms will be missed. Sure, you wre getting a bit tired but your location and rates served the budget traveller well. Goodbye.

Our room was only so-so, the houskeepers missed making up our room on one of our days, and the place was a nightmare to navigate, but at least we got to stay in this piece of LV history before it gets torn down. The room locations make it easy to get to the shuttle stop, which was great since walking... More

For obvious reasons there are upkeep issues but our stay was very good. Service was excellent and food was as well. Sad that the Riviera is closing but it is understandable that it would be difficult to revamp and keep up with other hotels. Happy with our choice.

The historic Riviera is closing in May. It saw the likes of Bob Hope and the stars of yesteryear. It has been acquired, apparently by the nearby Convention Center. It was famous for its comedy and shows. It was not a mega hotel like those on the center and southern strip.

With so many things to see, do, and experience in a place like Vegas, we took an economical approach when booking our room there. Clean and tidy, for certain, but not the brand new shiny Vegas everyone has come to know. I, personally, enjoyed it more, though. Old black and white photos of silver screen royalty placed everywhere for people... More

I stayed at the Riv for 5 nights as I was attending a convention nearby. I read all of the reviews, especially the horror show comments. I found the Riviera pleasant, a blast from the past. My room was spartan but clean, although the bed wasn't comfortable. But I have seen many casinos in Vegas worse for wear - and... More

The price of the room was a bargain. The room was spacious and clean. The location is on the strip. The staff is helpful and friendly. The Wicked Vickey restaurant had bargain lunch specials that included a glass of beer that can't be beat and tasty.
